Glad to hear this for the sake of his well-being. I still feel he has something left to offer the sport however, but I hope he gets a good deserved rest before stepping back in the ring.

would prefer it to be Bute but Bika or Green winner is fair enough.

you need to respect Taylor he went at it with Hopkins, Pavlik in the 2nd fight and Winky and whatever you think the results were he gave them all a tough fight. Froch and Abraham to for 11 rounds.

My ideal choice, if he wasn't with HBO, would be Lucian Bute. Guess i will be watching the Green/Bika fight with a lot more interest now!

Is Bute actually contracted with HBO now rather than on a per-fight basis? That'd be ideal really.

I think everyone would like to see Bute step in but I just don't see it happening.

Bute made his decision at the start of the tournament, theres no way he's going to change his mind enter it in the second round with zero points on the board.

There's some guy in the gf having a hissy fit about it. Blaming all the forum posters for forcing Taylor to quit.
    Don't understand people sometimes.:huh

I sort of see his point in a way though dont really agree with it, you have to trust that Jermain has thought it through enough and made his decision based on his thinking.

It does annoy me though when you get all this "Cotto has to retire" "Taylor has to retire" "Oh my god, he just got knocked out, he must quit for his own safety" yet hardly anyone seems to care for the safety of boxers who are basically paid to get knocked the **** out by up n coming prospects and journeymen!

I know people are looking at it from the angle that if Cotto and Taylor cant get any better then theyve got their legacy/money and can retire while the bums are earning a living but it's still a bit hypocritical imo.

Hope Bika gets in, I like Bika. Handful for anybody, head like a rock, strong, very tough.

Respect to Taylor for taking a step back and thinking about himself. I dont mind Taylor, he didnt duck many people did he? Hope he has a nice rest and maybe come back slowly, few wins under his belt and have another crack at a world title.
