Is a fighters chin now regarded as shaky if he can get dropped by clean, hard shots?

Look at the Miranda, or better, the Zertuche fight if you think Pavlik has glass mandibles.

A little respect to Taylor for trying again, but what is the point at catchweight?

It all depends on Taylors conditioning and will he prepared to fight a 12 round fight. He has the tools to hang with Kelly and outbox him(which imo he was doing until KTFO) but his lousy conditioning and bad habits proved too much for him to overcome in their first fight. I dont know but as a Taylor fan Im not that confident that he is capable of learning from his mistakes.

Man I hope he proves me wrong but I wont hold my breath:-(

I'd be very surprised if Taylor wins this one. Historically everything points to another loss. When men get KTFO two things happen: They learn, retain knowlege, use the knowlege in the ring and get better, or they go downhill. Most likely Taylor's on his way down the slope:

He has no love for the sport.

He has not developed, I'm sure he's learned a lot outside the ring but will/cannot bring it to the ring.

He has not shown the ability to follow instructions in the ring

He got KTFO big time by Pavlik

Pavlik will make better adjustments than Taylor

Taylors biggest problem is when it comes fight time, the live pressure is too much for him to process, and he resorts to his natural tendencies. 49r QB Joe Montana, not the greatest set of skills in the world, but he had the ability to see the entire field simultaneously and make instant decisions attacking where opportunity best presented itself. Magic Johnson with a basketball was the same way. He had eyes in the back of his head.

Taylor will win every round on route to a middle round stoppage.

Regarding Pavliks chin, Taylor threw a freakin' brutal combination of 10-12 punches & Taylor's no egg breaker. I could'nt believe Pavlik got up from that, and @ the count of 2! He was on shaky legs, got popped some more, but he recuperated amazingly. .

Pavlik KO. He will be all the stronger at a catchweight, and Taylor isn't a great "boxer" and his stamina is crap naturally. So he is ****ed to be nice about it, :-(!

I love how everyone brings up that Pavlik was "almost" knocked out and beat. This is boxing people; there are no maybes, ifs, ands, or buts. Just like racing - there is no "almost", either he won it or he didn't dammit! I would say the same thing if it was the other way around too so don't even try and call me a hugger

it shows that he is not unstoppable, unbeatable and that it is not set in stone that he will beat taylor second time around, same pavlik fans on the other hand will have you believe otherwise.

Pavlik KO 6. Kelly just keeps coming, he doesnt tire out. Jermain is gonna get tired, and when he does, he is going to eat a couple more big right hands from kelly and then its over.

Seeing how he was ahed on scorecards (wich was bs) when he got ko'ed Im affraid we might see Taylor taking close UD, he will most difinetly gona do smth to avoid beeing KO'd.
I would like Pavlik to win this one too, doesnt matter in KO or none KO fashion, but just like before their frist fight Im leaning towards Taylor by close UD.

Pavlik's previous 6 opponents have a combined 164 fights with 117 knock outs. Five of them had never been knocked out before. McKart (the current NABF champ) had never even been knocked down. Miranda, Zuniga, Pierre, and now Taylor have all moved to 168, so these are not small middleweights. Kelly has been down 3 times in 32 fights, and each time he got back up and Pavlikated his opponent. How the **** anyone looks at Kelly's career up to now, and says "oooh, shaky chin" I'll never know! Danny Lopez used to go down 3 times in the same ****ing fight, and no one ever accused "Little Red" of having a shakey chin!

Excellents points, Boo. The ones out there who refuse to see (or can't) that KP is something special are just haters or stupid. Don't ask me why, but really I could care less. I've been following Kelly for over 3 years & its just gotten better each fight. I don't expect anything different from him over the next 3 years. Then he will retire & we can all look back at a tremendous career of one hell of a fighter.
