Well if HBO doesnt want to pay Taylor the 5 mill then he should pull out because that is what they offered him to fight Pavlik. And according to HBO the fight is a go sept 29.

Does anyone know how much he made for his last two fights? If < 5 mil, then we have a ducker.

I don't believe HBO won't pay him $5 Mil for that fight. It is HBO who's hot on putting it up after all.

If Pavlik was a Welterweight or JR. Middle , Taylor would like to fight him.

Taylor fights good fighters, but smaller fighters. Taylor has never really faced a hard punching middlweight. Aside from Hopkins , but neither threw or landed many punches in either fight. I do reacall Hopkins having Taylor in trouble in the end of the first fight, when he finally started throwing punches.

Hey he should get what HBO promised him, but it doesn't sound like that 5 mil was intended entirely for him. If they're offering him anything more than his last fight and he don't take it, then you can't deny it...he's a ****ing *****.

I'm still trying to find the article in question.

You've smoked out exactly the reason why Taylor may be hedging his bets about facing Pavlik - he, or his people, know exactly what's gonna happen when he faces a legitimate MW who can crack. :nod

I'm calling BS on this news. I'm still seeing articles recent as the last 24 hours talking about the impending Taylor-Pavlik fight. On top of that, Taylor really needs Pavlik. Analysts will tear him apart if he ducks Pavlik. No matter what happens in the meetings or at HBO I have a feeling this will happen.

And I damn well hope it does too. Tpuz said it though: If Taylor doesn't fight Pavlik, Taylor sucks.

what has taylor done to be ask for 5 million? 5 dubious decision in a row not to mention having trouble selling even in arkansas. pavlik should take this fight on short money and take his frustrations out on taylor.
