Zak, like Amsterdam, you are one of the top dog analyst on this site and most respected. But you both have gone to great lengths to display your outright HATE of Taylor, so we can't take your accounts on this subject seriously.
He's more technically sound, but he also lacks intangibles that Andrade has, such as the chin. He also doesn't hit harder, that's utter horse****.
What ever you say buddy! I liked JT before I had even started to follow my "sloppy" hero Pavlik. I just can't believe with your good eye for under rated and/ or super natural talents, that you're in here upping the ultra-sloppy and clumsy Andrade. I know it has not much to do with anything other than your hate for JT. I know deep down you like my boy Pavlik too.:deal I would not even begin to argue with you at this point about JT vs. Kessler or Calzaghe, but Godamn!!! Andrade?!?!!!! GTFO of here with that crazy shiz!!
I can't stand Taylor but I have him correctly assessed in the same right, I'll pick him over guys I think he can beat, Andrade is not one of them. Even in 2 losses to Pavlik, you think that would show something, but no, now Taylor is still absurdly overrated and now Pavlik has become some monsters instead of just a lucky B level hitter with a workrate that happened to have Taylor's number in bringing pressure and workrate. Pressure and workrate.... sounds like a fighter we're also talking about now...
I dont have ANYTHING against Pavlik, I just don't like the overrated position he's been put in for beating an overrated sub-elite fighter like Jermain Taylor twice. Then Taylor of all people, is still ridiculously overrated, people are still convinced he's an elite fighter. And I'm picking Andrade, despite his sloppyness(never anything to the contrary there), because he has intangibles that make him very dangerous to a lot of guys at SMW, guys who are better than Taylor and Pavlik to be exact. People who think that Taylor is going to throw a constant workrate here and box beautifully for 12 rounds to keep Andrade off like Kessler did are out of their minds and have a very short memory. Go review the Kassim Ouma fight.
Well, thanks for the nice comments. :goodI don't presume to speak for Amsterdam, but the reason I don't like Taylor is that, while he's not a bad fighter, he was WAY overhyped by HBO - and as a result of their influence got some very questionable verdicts over long-time fighters who deserved the nod. It's that kind of crap that's killing the sport. Taylor is, imo, still very overrated. What top fighter in their prime has he ever beaten CLEARLY and CONVINCINGLY??:huh None that I'm aware of. :-( Given that he is nowhere near as good as some seem to think, it is not at all unreasonable to presume that Andrade would beat him. He's a top contender with a solid punch and excellent stamina. Taylor fades in fights - even his supporters acknowledge this. I 'll stick to my guns on this one - Andrade gets him late.:yep
This as always has been fun Ams, but unfortunately my 7 year old kid is under the weather and I've got to tend to him and get him in bed. Would be great to catch up with ya tommorow though brother. Always a pleasure, be cool buddy.
No doubt Zak, I didn't intend for it to sound as if you speak for Amsterdam or vice-versa, only that your views on JT are similiar. I just can't believe what I"m seeing though, hate JT or not, there's no way in burning hot hell that Andrade can beat JT. P.S.- Peace every body, randeris too, I'm out til tommorow and would love to continue the chat with you cats. Good fun.
Im done that **** is so ****ing funny. Pavlik, with his solid punching power in both hands does not hit harder the a guy that does not even turn his punches and plant his feet when punching. YOU ARE DICKLESS corn in a ****.
Taylor's jab controls the fight ... Andrade has poor balance and has boxing skills ... he's strong but if he can't touch you, he's ineffective.
