This guy is a buffoon. I like millions of others will be hoping that Josh Clottey tells him to stick his catchweight up his ass, and proceeds to whup his sorry ass all the way back to the Phillipenenes. His fans will still proclaim manny the world's best welterweight if he wins and they maintain he is a welterweight champion. In my eyes you need to fight at welterweight first pacman - to date you never have.:fire

 

Fighters like to have a cushion of a pound or so going into a weigh in because the last thing you want is to get on the scale and find that it reads a pound higher than the one you were using to set your weight, and that you've got to hurry up and sweat out a pound.

Fighting at 145 means he will likely come in at 144 or so to have that same cushion. That's a big disadvantage to a guy like Clottey who already cuts so much.

Also, in the immortal words or random ESB posters everywhere "so, what, all of a sudden Floyd, I mean, whoops, Pac gets to make his own rules instead of following the normal rules of boxing".

 

Oh of course, I know you didnt even bring Floyd up so im definately not accusing you, (maybe I should have reworded my intentions for posting what i did) im moreso meaning in general, "some people" do not give floyd a break for coming over weight one time instead labeling him a "cheater" but i have seen people defending manny about this CW issue. It seems like a double standard. Like i said, i personally dont think either should be labeled.

Pac has a welterweight belt now. Not a super duper light weight belt, not a big junior welterweight belt, a welterweight belt which is for 147. If he feels like coming in at 145 that is entirely his prerogative but they shouldnt be demanding the challenger who is already at that weight to come in at 145 or under for a welterweight title shot.

 

Like 5 years ago? Manny's dysfunctional entourage with the 25 different spokesmen was funny. But now it's just annoying.
