During the build up to Cotto/Clottey a lot of people on this board said Clottey was not a skilled boxer. I have to assume they never watched Clottey fight.
Funny, Cotto was having "flashes of Margarito" in the late rounds against Mosley, N'dou, and every other fighter who kept persistently marching him down. Cotto must be a time traveler or a pre-cog..
What do u mean what's my point???? YES you r making excuses 4 him... WHAT A LOW LEVEL OF A GUY U R 4 DENYING IT!!! I WOULD ASK THEM IFFFFFFFF I COULD , BUT GUESS WHAT?, THERE U GO KID, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN..?!?! & BTW I DO, I REALLY DO REMEMBER COTTO COUNTERING LATE ON EVERY 1 OF THOSE FIGHTS.... CONVINIENTLY, YOU DON'T!!!
You remind me of Bill O'reilly..."I'm gonna have to stop you right there and I'll tell you why...I love to hear myself talk"...what the hell does what Teddy Atlas said have to do with your predictions?...Way to pat yourself on the back as to what YOU think happened. Get over yourself. It's a little disappointing because usually you sound like you know your ****, but for some reason, and I'm not even a fan of Cotto and I'm picking Pac in this one, you seem to be biased towards the fact that you dislike Cotto.
LOL, what are you talking about fool? You're just as bad if not worse. You state every opinion you have like you own the sport of boxing and yours is the final word.
Why do girls here get their periods when someone mentions a prediction?, hey, I've had endless terrible predictions too and mention it. I'm not looking to pat myself on the back nor am I looking for the likes of you to pat me on the back. I mentioned my prediction because it related to what I said will happen and MANY disagreed and argued about it claiming they have seen more of Clottey which was clearly bull****. I mention that to share/exchange/gain information, not to get pats on the back. I've been a fan of Cotto for a VERY long time here like I'm a fan of Pacquiao. If I pick Pac to stop him based on flaws he proved in other fights it means I hate him?. Hey, I picked Pacquiao to defeat Mayweather too, am I Mayweather's #1 ernemy now? Mentioning my prediction related to flaws in BOTH Clottey and Cotto. I mentioned that Clottey runs out of gas quick and he had Cotto in serious situations where he looked helpless but ran out of gas and couldn't keep the punches up. Why did I mention that?, clearly because Pacquiao can throw punches from odd angles, body and head for full 12 rounds with serious power and has movement to back it up. That's a flaw I mentioned Pac will easily take advantage of with his speed and activity, I didn't mention it to get pats on the back and don't care for them. It's a boxing discussion and since Clottey was mentioned in this topic I might as well bring up my prediction on that fight because it relates A LOT to what Atlas is saying and relates to this topic. A good proof I also mentioned regarding Clottey's poor stamina and poor finishing skills is the Corrales fight. Corrales was literally OUT and ready to be taken since round 7 all the way to the 10th and Clottey couldn't keep the punches coming because he gassed. I mention those as obvious facts and very important ones going into the Pacquiao fight. It's very normal to base your prediction based on other fights, that's how people come up with predictions anyway.
Nonsense. I picked Hatton to beat Pacquiao and mention it a lot and admit a mistake. I also picked Pac over DLH, Hopkins over Pavlik, Pavlik over Taylor, Hopkins over Calzaghe, Lacy over Calzaghe, Cotto over Margarito, Mosley over Margarito(though admitted zero confidence with that prediction) and MANY other predictions. You don't see me brag about any nor deny mistakes and you also don't see me spam responses with emoticons and "OWNED" junk. My discussions are NEVER "I am right all wrong" if I am proven wrong. I don't come here to lecture people, I come to exchange information and have fun. If you disagree with my post feel free to collaborate, I would love to see my opinion changed.
Sorry but Teddy is right. Clottey gave Cotto the fight. He could have won it or even TKO'd Cotto but he didn't step it up. That fight could have easily been Cotto - Margarito all over again. btw, Teddy didn't say anything about Cotto not having heart. All he said was that mentally/physchology, the fight was in Clottey's favor, and he's 100% correct.
STFU noob. Throw on some gloves, take some punches, and then tell me about your shitty expertise about body language. Boxing language is in the eyes and legs. Not in movement or taunts. You can't hide that **** in the eyes and when your hurt there is no controlling your legs no matter how ****in' tough and game you are. Nothing in Cotto's eyes OR legs showed that he was hurt or damaged goods. If you saw the Margo fight, you'll see that even the commentators said he had the look of a beaten man. **** man. Cotto looked ****in' sad. His eyes were scared. He wanted it to be over. He was frustrated. He retired on the ropes because his legs were noodles. You clearly havent boxed a day in your life. Maybe you threw on a pair with your friends and call yourself some sort of expert, but the truth is in the eyes and legs. You don't know ****. Try again.
Actually you do. Did. And its completely understandable. Nothing to be ashamed about. It happens to ALLL of us here on ESB. Even to some of the wisest.
Wouldnt you consider a fighter's mental game and heart to be the same? If a fighter had a poor mental game, wouldnt you say he doesnt have heart?
