Teofimo Lopez Vs. Gervonta Davis?

He was on beast mode because his style matches well, and Taylor is athletically inferior to Lopez. Tank's style is poisonous to Teofimo.

 

You can't count out Teo. I think it would be a great fight between 2 great counter punchers.

 

Yup, Teo's not going to have much to work with against Tank, who is a natural counter puncher.

Maybe Teo's best strategy would be to rely heavily on the jab and just steal a lot of rounds off activity, especially the earlier rounds. He's sure got the speed and size to pull that off.

 

Martin is slick but has zero power, still made him look ordinary. Tank is slicker and hits hard enough to hurt Teo.

 

Lopez made him look ordinary. Lopez's power kept him on the outside where Taylor is weak.

It was annoying watching Taylor keep his lead hand so low and take left hook counters. It's a southpaw's bread and butter technique to keep the lead hand high to block their opponents jab but Taylor just kept is below his shoulder and so couldn't just walk in like he usually does and once Lopez got the timing for the right hand and uppercut on top of the counter left hook the fight was only going one way.

I do think Tank would be a very dangerous fight for Lopez though. I think Tank is better defensively and is the better technician. Might beat Lopez at his own game and counter him to death.

 

I think Teo tonite smashes Martin. Fighters have bad nights, this is Boxing.

 

Teofimo's jab is quite ordinary despite his quick lead hand. I think Ward mentioned that he does not use it enough, and only jabs to land a powerpunch.

 

The tools are there though.

Two things i always think fighters should do more is jab and feint.

 

He definitely didn't use it much in this fight that's for sure, but then he didn't need too as Taylor's jab is pretty crappy. Still think Teo's best performance was against Loma, his jab in that fight was on point, was key to his victory.

 

Teofimo's powerful right to the body was important, the jab didn't even land. Lomachenko switching on in round 7 was the real problem.
TBH I believe Loma could have beaten Taylor around 2019/2020.

 

Lopez has just retired.

 

Thank you, Taylor, I thought looked dreadful and because of that he'll beat Tank? No, and while I'm at it Lopez had a limp fighter in front of him for at least 5 rounds and couldn't get him outta there so he started hot doggin and showboating. Tank by TKO

I actually favor Tank he will get in there and mix it up with Teo like Kambosos did but Tank has more power.
