Excellent video and breakdown as always. Shakur is undoubtedly the smarter and more versatile boxer while Teofimo is the more athletically gifted and talented fighter. Teo's inconsistency and fighting to the level of his opponents is his biggest downfall whereas Shakur is someone who was more consistent, knows how to switch it up when he needs to and can still control the tempo of the fight. Shakur's ring IQ, defense, accuracy, and control of distance is something that's going to be very challenging for Teofimo to overcome and also the reason why Shakur is rightfully favored to win. Teofimo will need to fight the perfect game plan to make Shakur more hesitant of his power and counter punches and also have a plan B or C to fall back on if Shakur makes any adjustments. He can't afford to have any mental lapses during the fight. But as Teo has proven time and again he always comes out surprising everyone with a great performance when he's being counted out and it'll be interesting to see how much Shakur brings the best out of Teo. I just don't know if that same luck is going to help him against a guy like Shakur who is a much different fighter compared to Loma and Taylor and presents the the same problems that guys like Ortiz and Martin gave him. Ultimately this will all comes down to how well Shakur can carry the weight up to 140 and still be a nightmare to deal with and how sharp, focused, and explosive Teo will be and if can he maintain his composure without being frustrated to the point of letting the fight slip away.

Stylistically both guys are natural counter punchers and usually when that happens the fight might end up becoming dull to watch. But with that said this match up is exciting because we have two very talented elite fighters still in their primes and it will answer questions for both fighters come fight night. I just hope this fight ends up being the same type of high level chess match with entertaining action in the same vein as Bivol vs Beterbiev, Usyk vs Fury, Loma vs Haney, and most recently Muratalla vs Cruz.

Best of luck to both fighters and may the best man win.

Will we see a Kambosos Teo or a Lomachenko Teo?
    That's the X factor.

Better question is if we'll see the frustrated version of Teo who fought Ortiz and Martin or the sharp and confident Teo who beat Taylor and Barboza.

Exactly, he is not a consistent fighter, which makes predicting his fights difficult.

Shakur by wide unanimous decision, as always.

Lopez will win max 3 rounds, and that's just because Shakur will pull his feet off the pedal in middle rounds. Shakur will beat Lopez at his leisure, taking his time.

    117 - 111 Shakur.

Teos creativity is his best weapon against Shakur, and he is one of the most creative fighters there is at the moment.

When he’s on, he has the ability to throw effective and strong punches that aren’t in the boxing text book, and the same for the foot and body positioning that helps set those punches up.

His own boxing IQ is also under rated, because he can be an emotional fighter and blows hot and cold.

Shakur is definitely the cleaner and more disciplined (in ring) of the two, and that’s why he’s rightly the (slight) favorite. I just think its important to mention Teo has a lot more going for him than altheticism, even if his athleticism helps him pull some of those things off.

To this day he’s the only person to outbox Lomachenko for multiple rounds, and that shouldn’t be taken forgranted when we discuss his IQ.

Even Haney’s effectiveness against Loma came from physicality and body punching rather than boxing and the jab like Teo was able to do.

Another nice analysis, you covered my first thoughts about this fight about how the styles would clash. Can Lopez apply enough pressure to a good defensive fighter like Shakur to get him out of his comfort zone and make him fight. While this has the potential to be a good fight a technical chess match will probably break out and I agree with the prediction of Shakur by UD. On a side note: Rummy have you ever entertained the idea of doing ringside analysis for broadcasts, this kind of expertise is SORELY needed when watching a boxing card on TV and I think you'd be a hit.

Great analysis Rummy, I look forward to being there on the 31st and have a pretty good seat.

I think think one real significant X-factor could be Shakur's body punching. He is not a great puncher as per his KO ratio but he hurts guys to the body and uses his right well as a mask to get the left downstairs. On Ring Magazine's YT channel they had a video with Malik Scott breaking this down along with Teo leaving his body open in previous fights. I think this could be a significant punch in this fight. Obviously that creates an opportunity for Teo's right to the head.

Could see this as a similar fight to Haney-Garcia. Shakur boxes well and nullifies Teo but Teo in spots lands and rocks Shakur. Though Teo is an explosive puncher, he has not scored KO's or floored guys since moving up. I think he can ambush and surprise Shakur but I think Shakur will more consistently control the fight with his feet and jab. Thinking a close decision that Shakur wins

Round 6 Teo with the KD, Shakur gets on bicycle..

he’s gonna walk right through Shakur’s brittle hands…

controversial win via bicycle for Shakur.

sets up a rematch but Shakur doesn’t give.

This card sucks other than the main event, which isn’t guaranteed fireworks if Shakur has his number. The Turki card in Flushing was way better. Adames dropped out too.
