You ain't going to look good against fighters who run. As the cliche goes it takes two to tango! In a sense Loma was spoiling the fight. Like many Void fights are boring the man runs 85-90 percent of the time. Hence why most of his fights are boring AF!

    No!

Loma fought a survival fight the first half, so going after Loma with a seek and destroy mentality was only going to play into Loma's hands.

Lopez was jabbing, going to the body, and just outright beating Loma to the punch right there at center ring while in boxing mode. Would have been dumb of him to push the envelope and go into a seek and destroy type of mission fight.

Plus being as young and inexperienced against the level of opposition as Loma was, Lopez was very wise not to fall into the trap of thinking he could take Loma and knock him out like he did most his other opposition.

The 12th round came and what did Lopez do????? Exactly, took the fight to Loma in more of the seek and destroy type of mentality that you wanted of him and he dominated the final round.
You dont do that early to mid rounds against a fighter as good and experienced as a Lomachenko though.
Lopez played it very wisely beyond his years.

    It's tactics.

It was his 2nd 12 round fight vs a Hall of famer, he isn't about to blow his gasket, especially when he's winning rounds easily because Lomachenko wasn't doing anything. Loma was also hoping for exactly this. If he fought stupidly, the way you're suggesting, he could have easily have lost.

Boxers have different levels. Lopez was not able to finish Nakatani, now also Loma.
Lopez is young, maybe he will improve.
