Teremoana Teremoana vs Bakhodir Jalolov (8 rounds)

Last night, Teremoana scored another highlight reel knockout against journeyman Curtis Harper. Jalolov, who won gold medals at the 2019 and 2023 World Championships and the 2020 and 2024 Olympics, faced Teremoana twice in the amateurs. One was a clear stoppage win in an IBA tournament, and the other was at the 2024 Olympics, where I thought Teremoana did enough to win against Jalolov. If they fight in the pros, do you think Teremoana will get his revenge, or will Jalolov maintain his dominance in their rivalry?

 

At least Teremoana is actually fighting.

 

Hmm, something tells me Teremoana might not have the sturdiest mandible. Facing a live body might answer the questions some have about his whiskers.

 

Teremoana has exceptional power, but he hasn't fought someone with a pulse yet, so we'll see what he's really like when such a fight happens.

 

I'd be more concerned about Teremoana's conditioning & lack of rounds than his chin. He's never been past two as a pro. Needs a couple of six-rounders against blokes who will push back against him. They exist in Australian (& New Zealand) boxing but Slow Eddie will need to spend some money in order to get them. Teremoana needs to win the Australian title before he fights any fringe contenders, let alone Jalolov.

 

Good point. It reminds me of when I backed Kingsley Ibeh over Miller, failing to realize he hadn’t gone past six rounds in a fight. Ibeh gassed out, and Miller scraped a points victory.

 

Hearn is his promoter and surely it is time to test the big bloke a bit more? He did a Cook Islands Haka after one of his fights and I'd love to see him make it a signature. He will take some stopping.

 

Teremoana is probably at the stage where he could jump in with Usyk and flatten his battery if he wants a high profile scalp. Usyk knows he's on borrowed time, hence fighting a youtuber on the Gaza strip next.

However if he fights someone decent who is still taking it seriously such as Frank Sanchez, Filip Hrgovic or a moving up Chris Billian Smith they may box circles round him and make him look a proper C**T

 

CBS is a clown. He’s still running from Opetais. Teremoana violates him in unspeakable ways.

Hrgovic and Sanchez are much worthier opponents.

 

Would love to see them again in the Pros.
