Ring Magazine definitely had Joe Calzaghe top 5 for a solid year or 2 and as high as #2. To me it’s hard to say he and Ottke were not overrated when both guys racked up 20 title defenses in the same exact division within the same time frame. To me they cancel each other out.

 

A user named "ellerbe" (after Leonard Ellerbe, Floyd Mayweather's former manager and current manager of Mayweather Promotions) is mad that Terrence Crawford is better than every single PBC fighter. Has me literally laughing.

...and "ellerbe" says Tank would beat Bud at 147...the same Tank that needed a catchweight ans rehydration clause against Ryan Garcia?

Its literally on record that PBC WWs ducked Crawford. In 2019, Terrence (w Top Rank) offered Danny a career high payday plus his first ever main event on a PPV card. Danny has just lost to Thurman and Porter and publicly clamoring for rematches. Getting a belt and beating an undefeated 3 weight champ would certainly help his case...except Danny declined Crawford offer and fought Granados for a fraction of the money and zero leverage.

Thurman infamously demanded $10M to fight Crawford when Keith got ~$3M to fight Pacman.

And, yes, Spence taunted and teased Bud for being on the wrong side of the street.

Crawford has fought every willing opponent in his entire career. And he's had zero close fights.

 

None of that means he can't be overrated and that his resume is very poor for someone supposed to the best of his era and an ATG. It just sucks for them if he was ducked it does not mean he gets to be an ATG without proving it.

 

His peers (other boxers) don't think he's overrated.............

That's who and plenty others. Ridiculous all you need to do to become P4P 1 is weight bully at the lower weights then beat a brain damaged, inactive & drained Spence and a part time commentator (who was actually winning before dodgy ass stoppage)

 

Spence never had Bud`s power, he`s a one pace fighter with no head movement.

 

So what does that make Spence ?

lolno. That was Earl Spence or maybe Tank Davis. Although at this rate Tank's matchmaking will have him retired before he fights anybody real. At least Earl finally took the risk.
