I dont think it was fix. Mostly why keep getting up??? Why not just stay down and take the full count?

I think McGovern caught Gans, and Gans just never recover fully to do anything. The Ref even had to help Gans to his own corner at the end of the first round.

People forget McGovern was a amazing puncher, perhaps one of the best pound for pound ever. And if he catchs you right, your either out or not going to recover soon.

Had it been 1 or 2 or 3 knockdowns, sure I may buy it, but Gans just keep getting up. Other thing people forget is in the old days, you have WAY less time to recover, when you consider you were allow to stand over a fallen foe, by most standers the first knockdown would be the end of most bouts about.

Would Dempsey had did the damage and beating on Jess Willard with a netural corner rule?? I dont think so, I think the lack of that rule was a big reason Mcgovern had the edge.

Gans must've been rather inept if it wasn't a fix, but based on what I've seen of him against Nelson & Herman, I do not believe that he could lose in this way. He took a dive, it happens. McGovern was very good, but not that good.

Mario Cawley too kept getting up against Hasim Rahman, but it was the most obvious dive ever. It's difficult to stay on the canvas with the referee urging you to get up and the crowd booing, so he got up from embarrassment, only to fall over again. The same could be said about Pep-Perez.

I am of the opinion that it was fixed. Gans just doesn't look for real. He isn't a very good actor in my opinion.
