    I like Minter here

Although he wasnt the quickest he was a good styilist with good timing. Norris would win early rounds with quick fast combos. But i think Minters patient and good boxing style lets him land some good counters and maybe KO Norris in the mid rounds while being down on the cards.

Norris wins this! Providing he didn't get careless, Terry would be too fast, too sharp for Minter. Norris would mark him up pretty quickly & it would stopped on cuts.

Norris throws too many combos, has too much variety for Minter!

Im siding with Norris...but I think Minter could be a really difficult fight for him. He looked so ungainly sometimes but it was clearly effective.
I reckon he could offset Norris and exploit his defensive weaknesses..Im just not confident enough he can turn it into a win though.

    1) minter tended to lose on cuts.
norris simply had one of the worst chins owned by such a highly
touted champion. he was stopped by smaller men than minter.
    2) minter was a 160 fighter , norris wasn't even a big 154 fighter
    (for their time)
*) both were competitive against the elite of their respected time.

from the reasons above - minter by stoppage , unless norris gets lucky.
for the catholic church - how many times can a young peak norris be regarded the favorite and lose by KO , and still be regarded the favorite , in the next time ? Norris is overrated , very much.
However his brother - Orlin is underrated and forgotten.

again, i think norris' speed advantage leads to a points decision. if minter can get to him, sure. but norris' chin, while soft, is not as bad as people make it seem at times. one decent blow won't knock him out. minter, while solid, was not a world class puncher or knockout artist. it would take a decent amount of punishment from him to take norris out; terry's sheer athleticism, i feel, prevents this

No sir that's not true. If anything Norris is very underrated in the head to head department, only now are people here in the Classic forum starting to come around to him as a fighter.

    Every thread he confuses me.

So clearly someone who makes his mind up from boxrec and wikipedia...He just whips out stats without putting them into context and pretty much taking them on face value. Showing that he hasnt seen to many of the fights he is talking about.
