Tex Cobb with kicks permitted vs Larry Holmes

    They don't talk about it much, but Tex Cobb began as a karateka and kickboxer (American style full contact above the waist) for a fairly long time before he began boxing.

    Assuming a mixed rules fight, would Cobb have managed to beat Holmes if he'd been allowed to pull out the above-the-waist kicks he used in full contact karate?

    That would have made a big difference. If low kicks were allowed then I'd have him a firm favourite.
