Thanks to Hopkins: Only Dawson left for Calzaghe

Your Dawson nonsense is as dumb as the Pavlik nonsense. He will retire after he beats Jones and no doubt will be invited to Buckingham Palace to have a knighthood bestowed upon him by her majesty. Henceforth you and the other guttersnipes will have to refer to him as Sir Joe Calzaghe.

I guess you're bored with P4P talent then? You should probably find a new sport.

Sir Joe Calzaghe, galloping his noble steed back to Buckingham palace, upon witnessing Dawson school Tarver.

Calzaghe said he's retiring after this one and there is no real reason for him to fight Dawson as he is actually fighting in a weight class that's higher than I think suits him. Also Calzaghe is old he's 36 and the fact that him Hopkins and Jones are still fighting surprises me in itself.

Having watched Calzaghe through the years I don't think he is near his prime and all his power has gone due to his brittle hands. Even against Lacy I don't think he was in his prime but he still had the skill and the staminia to beat him.
Anyway even if he beat Dawson there would be somebody else pipeing up saying he should fight them (Froch).

If Chad wants a legacy Hopkins is looking for a couple more fights also why can't he just look to dominate the division for a couple of years? People are always looking for new fighters to become superstars so I'm sure he'll get a chance at one rather than taking on these old timers.

Your claim is that Johnson and Tarver were operating at the same level when they fought Dawson as when they fought Jones?

    First Lacy,then Pavlik,now Dawson. :D:D:D

Les Dawson would have a better chance.

Dawson would be a good fight but Joe won't take it and there are a lot of reasons

jesus dawson barely made it out alive from johnson, 13-14 yrs his senior, shame on him really, then he fights tarver, same age, the only reason people want calzaghe to fight dawson is simple because they relying on age to catch up with him. dawson should call our SLL, its funny how no one seems to want HOPKINS to fight dawson? is dawson ducking hopkins?

Firstly Dawson is a Showtime fighter and Calzaghe is a HBO fighter. I doubt either network will allow the other to show the fight.

Secondly, you say Dawson said he'll go over to Wales for the fight. WTF does that count for? Dude didn't want to go to Romania to face Diaconu.

First the haters wanted Joe to face Pavlik and Joe was ducking him and Hopkins was a shot fighter.. Now Hopkins shows he's still got it and exposed the overrated Pavlik so you want Joe to face Dawson now? Who the **** is Chad Dawson in the UK? Joe Public here wouldn't give a ****. In boxing 'you don't get what you deserve, you get what you earn.'

If Calzaghe does take the Dawson fight and beats him then Dawson is an overrated bum. If Dawson wins he's a legend killer after beating both Tarver and Calzaghe forgetting that Tarver was 39 and Calzaghe would be almost 38 if a fight does happen.

Well... at least the Pavlik fight offered a few (million) bucks... but Joe said: I'd rather go to fight a legend insted of someone who is said to be a future legend. And when Hopkins schooled Pavlik, Joe's choice became just right. Why would he want to fight another fighter who could or could not turn out to be a Lacy later in his career, when he can fight a Top25 ATG? They are both past their primes, but still pretty good. He beat the young fighters in Lacy and Kessler.

I would love to see Calzaghe versus Dawson, but I actually think Joe wins.

The Americans have butterfly minds. They flutter towards one fighter and then to the next and then on to another in desperation. Sad really.

Exactly, the choice is Calzaghe's & he will choose to retire. Calzaghe fight Dawson? Not a chance. Dawson is a young guy with hunger, skills, etc. There's no way Calzaghe, 36, will fight a guy like Dawson.

Damn, Calzgahe won't even contemplate fighting Hopkins again! He's already ruled it out.

Calzaghe says he can retire now knowing that Pavlik did not merit a fight with him. Excuse me Joe, get the fcuk off your high horse. Calzaghe will never be a proper legend like Hopkins is.

Joe says he's getting too old to carry on boxing, that he's been boxing too long. WTF? Bernard Hopkins is fcuking 43 years old some seven years older than Calzaghe.
