You must be stupid to say that Pac-JMM will sell as Pac-PBF!!

    Pac-Floyd will sell 2.5M Plus!!! Pac-JMM will be 1-1.1M same as Pac-Cheato. Pac-Mosley will be 1.2-1.4M guaranteed!!

the problem is, there was most likely no serious offer, as mosley was the guy the second he moved away from GBP

I agree with this, to an extent. But, was there an understanding of some sort about the acceptable range of the purse? I don't recall. Did Marquez submit one bid, and they said he priced himself out? Berto's was lower, I think. I wonder what Shane's bid was?

JMM is not some unknown. He is a stalwart of HBO boxing. He gave Pac all he could handle, twice. He is coming off two great wins. He is a legend in this era...comparable to Mosely and, probably, greater. Why should he have to accept Juan Diaz or Katsidis type money, to fight a cash-cow like Manny? It doesn't make sense.

Actually 3-4 million dollars would be more than triple what he made from Katsidis. Plus Arum has to compensate for the money Marquez's promoter is stealing from Top Rank's cut of Manny's purse. As another poster stated, Marquez could have used his company to promote the fight in order to get GBP out of the picture, but he chose not to take the risk and put his money where his mouth is.

If Mosley is getting 5, there is no reason for Marquez not to take one or two million less than that. Especially as he claims he is so desperate for the fight and really has no leverage in negotiations. Everything points to a third fight with Pac being all about the payday, and not about legacy at all for Marquez. He's always been a prima donna, turning down big fights believeing he was worth more than he was and then crying about it for years about not getting those fights.

You think Mosley would've turned down the fight for 3-4 million for a shot at Pac? Never.

Fair enough. My question is...did they give him the opportunity to present a new bid, based on their willingness to only offer 3-4 million? If not, he just stated what he felt his worth was...nothing wrong with that. It seems Shane was a shoe-in to get the opportunity, regardless.

So JMM fighting another fight that doesn't prove he can bang at higher weights is Pac's fault? :nono

I agree. It was Arum not wanting to deal with GBP. GBP offered to get their interests bought out so that means that the $5 million included Marquez's purse and GBP paycheck. The GBP buyout would cut out GBP out of the promotional picture. Otherwise, GBP and Top Rank would have to do a co-promotion, and you know how much Arum hates GBP.

Then there's the low risk, high reward factor that Mosley brings to the table. How else can you explain paying Mosley $5 million for the fight?

Being close rounds then they will always be questionable. They will always be subjected to many questions on who really won those rounds. Many have more rounds for JMM but many also have it for PAC. The judges gave the 2nd fight to PAC.

While no one can question how PAC made JMM kissed the canvass several times. Each of those KDs was a clear 2-point margin.

WTF is wrong with you ******s?!

Can't you understand the simple fact that JMM STRUGGLED to make 144 and LOOKED AWFULLY SLUGGISH at that weight?
No it wasn't just Floyd, his body simply cannot hold that much weight.
His punch resistance is at it's all time low, his punches were soft, hell his speed/timing and combinations looked stupid at 144.

Pac will murder your boyfriend on the ring at WW.

Sugar is at least 100x a better threat at WW than JMM ever will be.
Now if you can't see that, then you my friend ARE BEYOND HELP.
