Doesn't matter. Floyd wins either way. Floyd would toy with Khabib in a boxing ring and tear Khabib's face up and knock him out with the smaller gloves in an mma fight before Khabib would ever have a chance to get a clinch or takedown or take mayweather down. Mayweather even in his 40's isn't some scrub like Michael Johnson are Edson Barboza and he doesn't have a 2 minute gas tank like McGregor. Khabib has a bad habit of throwing his left hand low while in range while leaving his chin wide open and either shoots in off the low fake left or follows up the left with a right hook. This is effective against MMA fighters, who are mediocre from the shoulder, but against Floyd Khabib would be walking into a check hook or counter right every time he throws that low left.
Dumbest post ever. Khabib shoots straight in before Floyd would be able to throw a punch takes him down and ends it how he wants in record time. Even if he did throw it would be useless as Khabibs head height would be at Floyds waist to knees with his head tucked to his chest...Have you ever watched an MMA fight...it would be no different to Couture v James Toney
I've watched MMA long before the UFC ever existed or MMA itself was even recognized as a sport. Me and my roommate, who was a professional fighter at the time ran a bunch of MMA events back in 2005-2006 in Anaheim and Sierra Madre with Ric Drasin and Steve "The Hunter" Arce, so I've watched plenty of MMA fights. James Toney fought Couture in 2010 when he was a broken down washed up fat slob. Floyd Mayweather is always in good condition and would never show up into the condition Toney showed up in for the Couture fight. Khabib eats too many punches from scrubs like Barboza, who can't punch and has horrible timing. Khabib is a sambo master and could destroy Floyd if he could take him down and mount him, but it just isn't happening. Also, that statement made no sense. Before Khabib's head height gets low he needs to fake the left, but a boxing master like Floyd isn't going to take the bait. Also, unlike Connor and most MMA fighters that have no handspeed it wouldn't be hard for Floyd to time Khabib when he tries and makes those level changes, since Khabib's game is pretty one dimensional and Khabib has never fought anyone with Floyd's timing and handspeed. Also, Floyd punches much harder than any MMA fighter at 155, so it wouldn't take much for Floyd to knock Khabib out. Plenty of grapplers in the UFC have been knocked out cold trying trying to make the level change to shoot in. If Khabib at least had a good front kick like Nate Diaz I could possible see Khabib bypassing Floyd's defense and strikes and getting the takedown, but Khabib's striking ability is awful and trying to force a single or double leg against Floyd would be asking to walk into a counter. Dana is a former boxer and knows what what happen to Khabib in the cage, so the only way the fight happens is if it happens in a boxing ring where a loss does no damage to the UFC or Khabib's image. This was also the case with Anderson Silva begging Dana to let him fight Roy Jones in the Octagon in 2010, since Roy was willing since he was desperate, but Dana wisely didn't allow it, since Silva's and the UFC's stock would've went in the toilet when after Jones knocked him out.
I leave it here as it’s going to be a boxing match. Many sources says that they made an agreement. Date is unknown yet probably next April/May.
Absolute joke fight. Floyd DARING TO BE GREAT again by taking on an MMA fighter with a 0-0-0 boxing record. What a disgusting little fraud.
As a Khabib fan I’m a bit disappointed though, I thought he is about the legacy not the money, but let’s keep it real, who the hell on Earth would say no to 100M dollar for one night, even if it’s a guaranteed loss? I’m sure this time Floyd won’t play around for too long, he is going to take him out inside 5 rounds.
It's not floyd's fault if people are willing to pay him 100 million $ for fighting a 0-0-0 guy. Floyd worked his own way to greatness, btw, probably the best fighter I've ever seen alive. Unparallel fighter, like no other. And anyone who knows **** about this sport knows it is true.
Do you have a list of things you wouldn't do for $100m? I do and it'd be a lot longer if I happened to be an ATG boxer who boxing had given everything I could dream of to.
I really don't think this would sell huge numbers. Khabib is different to McGregor. They can't build this like last time plus the novelty is gone.
Who are the lowlifes? All of his teammates are top martial artist. He is a good guy, much better human being than McGregor, Mayweather or Canelo.
