I've no issue with what you've wrote, I was just making an observation. Looking from Floyd's perspective and how he fights, facing a heavier guy would be easier for him than fighting a guy who was taller than him who had a longer reach. My initial point was to highlight that just because Floyd moved through the weight classes, it doesn't mean that GG has to. Again, everyone's circumstances are different. If GG moves up to SMW that would be great. But if he doesn't go any higher, you couldn't then say that Floyd was more ambitious because he fought in more than 2 weight classes. Again, if GG moved up to LHW, he'd be completely outsized in every fight. Guys would be taller than him, heavier than him, and their reach would be bigger. Whereas even though Floyd went through all of those weight classes, he was only ever completely outsized against Oscar.
What are you talking about? Why are you upset? There is no agenda. I just made an OBSERVATION that's all. Yes, Floyd was only completely outsized in one fight. And what I mean by that, is in height, reach and weight altogether. Yes, he was often outweighed, but he still had his height and reach. I don't know what all the fuss is about. Oscar was taller than him, he was heavier than him, and his reach was bigger. That is an example of being completely outsized physically in all 3 departments. So how is that a lie exactly?? My point is that if GG went up to LHW like some have suggested, he'd be completely outsized in every fight like how Floyd was against Oscar. There is nothing wrong with making that observation. Just because Floyd went through various weight classes, it doesn't mean that GG has to. Basically, I don't like how people are questioning GG's ambition and using Floyd as an example. Floyd going through all his weight classes doesn't make him more ambitious. If Floyd was GG's exact size, we don't know how many divisions he'd have fought in. Again, everyone's circumstances are different. You can't do direct comparisons between a guy who turned pro at SFW and a guy who turned pro at MW.
This is as black and white and as dumbed down as anyone can put it. If people still don't understand this.... u gotta just give up.
Good points. And no I didn't consider all the specifics. Good point about Oscar too. If GGG actually had higher caliber talent to face at MW, and those fights were being made, I think most would be satisfied with what he is doing. And if he didn't come out and say he would fight ANYONE in 3 weight classes, that wouldn't be hanging over his head. It's not really defensible. It's his career, and he can do what he wants. But, what he is doing does not warrant the tremendous hype and current P4P rankings. If he were to face ONE current P4P fighter, and dominated him, all that would change very quickly. Another way would be to move up and show what he can do against bigger, ranked fighters, who are not blown up MWs (JCC Jr) or on the edge of retirement (Froch). And of course he could meet some of the more talented JMWs at a C/W and show that his skills hold up against them. He is the goods, based on the eye test. But, I think a lot of people (not all haters...some fans), actually want to confirm it, with real challenges. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
GG is a contender not champion, and you still to this day don't know about the size of fighters in boxing. This is a choice. Your observation is a choice and then giving your OPINION. You're not speaking about the reality of size in boxing. YOU'RE NOT SPEAKING FACTS. Why you choose to not keep it real is probably because you're tired of people bashing GG. STOP listening to those posters and get with the real fans who care about the sport enough to keep it real.
