I hope it's nothing so serious that he has to retire, or figh once a year at best.

I hope he gets the thumbs-up and fights Branco and Johnson performing at his very best in each fight and anything that follows from there on is a bonus...

Larsen nothing man...hope he doesn't pull a Golota:-( .Anyway I'm confident he can still win these fights but it will take more than just normal training.Wish Larouche would pitch in more.Anyway I read that Branco is pissed cuz he said he is too old to wait for a title shot this much.Should make for a good one.

 

It is really quite unfair on Branco...yeah...:-(

Larouche is not Diaconu's trainer and Interbox are not promoting him either...he just trains there with Bouchard. Word on the street is that he is not doing what he is told a lot of the time, either in preparation for a fight or during the fight...:

"I have too much maturity and skill over Henry for him to hang with me for long," said Diaconu...

Bouchard asked him to box, not to go for the early KO.

It almost cost him.

Nope,he is copromoted,Interbox-Gankor Promotions.Hell,he still is on the Interboxsite as 1 of the fighters and he signed a contract with them in march or april(a new one I guess)Gankor promotes the cards in Romania just.If he will ever fight in Canada again(and it is an IF) Interbox will promote.And I don't know about Bouchard being more than a friend.He ain't half the trainer Larouche is.But yeah he wa kinda confident in the build-up for Henry with that line and all.He didn't have no gameplan,altough he developed a nice one during the fight.But really I don't see Branco being better than Henry anyway so.....

 

He's not promoted by Interbox at all, as far as I've read in the RO press...and neiter is Dan, for example. They still train there, but Interbox will not organise a Gala for them and it won't even give them an undercard slot for $30k anymore (in the case of Dan). Gankor and Obreja look after them now...as far as I know.

 

Nah,they are promoted by Interbox,it's just they take them in Romania more.Dan fought on the undercard of Bute vs Joppy if you remember.How can they make Diaconu for example a undercard fight?They can't,it's a world title fight now,but they can't make him a main event either cuz he ain't such a big draw hence the fights in Romania.Anyway Gankor is looking after them by not having money for a fight,that's real good workatsch :-(

 

That was then...but now, Dan doesn't get an undercard slot on Interbox shows because they cannot afford to pay him even what they payed him before ($20-30k), after Bute signed his new contract.

Diaconu hasn't headlined a show in quite a while, in Montreal...he's just not a draw.

Times have changed. Interbox just cannot afford to pay these guys...they've put all their eggs in one basket, with Bute.

Diaconu would make much more money in Romania or on the road than in Montreal as a co-feature along-side Bute.

Dan would make more in Romania too, even if he only makes $30 k there...Interbox cannot afford to pay him even those $30 k it seems...

ADRIAN DIACONU WILL DEFEND HIS TITLE IN CLUJ

Adrian Diaconu will defend his WBC LHW title in Cluj(Romania) against no 1 contender Silvio Branco,in the first trimester of next year,said Rudel Obreja,President of the Romanian Boxing Federation and memeber of the entourage.
Obreja says that tuesday he reached an agreement with the officials of Cluj to stage the fight there.
He also said that he received a letter from the WBC on monday,in which he was informed that the WBC will organise a new purse bid if the romanians don't settle a date of the fight till december 15th.
In other news Obreja said that theere will be another boxing card in Romania somewhere between 7 and 20 december in which the main-event will be Jojo Dan vs TBA.He said that this fight will be the closest step to the title for Jojo.

Diaconu could fight as late as March! A long layoff again...could be 11 months...

I think they will be going on the WBA route for Ionut so somebody ranked might be now in line for him,names like Figueroa,Bailey,Rees,Arnaoutis won't travel to Romania to fight.Maybe somebody like Willy Blain,Singwhancha or Nanthachai:hey .
As for The Shark,yes as late as march....I wonder what were you expecting?I was saying since august that setting this Branco fight this late ain't good for him,and as things are going here I don't really expect it to be earlier than mid february.Obreja barely founf finances in Cluj.Like I said it's good considering...:!:

The fight will be at the earliest in january and the latest in march 09 confirmed Obreja.After bringing Carmit(ex-Pussycat Dolls) and Amy Hayes for the card in Bucharest back in april Obreja said the card in Cluj will have some other points of attraction.There will be some international stars for the anthems and more importantly siting ringside will be former undisputed HW champion of the world ''Iron'' Mike Tyson and former 2 division world champion Arturo ''Thunder'' Gatti.
This is great......2 of my favorites here at the fight...I'm definetely going.
