Yes he looks like a gentleman. In fact, here is a little story. During yesterday's press conference, the private driver of Diaconu during his stay in Romania took the micro and made an unusual offer to Henry. He offered him..I think..10K for writing Diaconu's name under each of his shoes. There the Romanian TV could make a big zoom on Diaconu's name once Henry would be laying on the floor after being KOed. Apparently, Henry started laughing and gently accepted the offer saying that would the worst investment that guy made.

Henry said Diaconu was a deserving Champion but he thought the Texas, UK and Russia judges had sided with Diaconu, as did the Canadian judge. Henry complained that Diaconu was allowed to hold so much, that he was allowed to lower his head under the beltline so often and that no KD was given when Diaconu was pushed through the ropes in the 12th. He said though that, had the fight taken place in Texas with a "fair" judge, he might have been the winner. He also said that Dawson would have lost to both him and Diaconu, on the night.

Bute admitted he had been very surprised by Henry. He said he had not seen a fighter as tough, strong and hard-chinned as Henry for a long time. He said he couldn't believe how many hard punches Henry took without going down.

Diaconu said Bute's encouragement at ringside in the last 3 rounds helped pull him through. He said he thought he won because he used his experience to fight smartly to survive in the last rounds. Diaconu said that Dawson had offered him $50k as step aside money, which he declined, before Dawson fought Johnson. After the Henry fight, Diaconu said he wants to fight Dawson no matter what.

The Romanians are trying to get Dawson a $1,000,000 purse to fight Diaconu in Romania. (Diaconu made almost as much as that, against Henry).

I watched the fight again. I thought Diaconu did enough to win. A draw would have been fine and a close win for Henry would not have been a robbery either...but there were no KD's. Henry thought he won because he said he KDed Diaconu.

Anyway...Diaconu should have been warned for falling down like a rag doll, for talking to the ref and for complaining about hits to the back of the head, when he himself was the one leaning over below the belt line and for holding so much. Maybe a point should have been taken off for all of that...would have made it a draw, in my book.

Anyway...about the stamina. I think Diaconu's power/stamina+strength ratio is not good enough for 175. I think he is too confortable making weight at 175 to train hard enough to improve his stamina and strength. I think he would be better off moving down to 168 or at even to 160.

Diaconu's used to have good power as an amateur fighting at MW too. Anyway, it's not so much his power that makes him effective as his punching technique and explosiveness, as I keep saying to everyone. He would keep those at 168/160...

Relax...I'm just giving you guys a hard time. BTW I thought Adamek looked very impressive with his TKO over Bell. Much props to Adamek and I can't wait for his fight with USS Cunningham.:good

I completely agree. Diaconu is a hell of a fighter and can make noise at LHW, but I don't think 175 is ideal for him. Physically he is a natural MW if he is in top condition. Which makes what he's doing at 175 more impressive I think.
