I said that "Oscar vs. Hopkins was at a 156 catchweight" because the direct comparison for this thread is between a once-SFW who fought at MW and a once-SFW who people hope will fight at MW one day.

Judging by the recent detraction brought along with catchweights, I just thought it is important to point out (as most folks on here prob didn't even know that; you included based on your response).

So anyone who wants to see Mayweather fight a middleweight like Oscar did... Do you want him to fight that middleweight at a 156 pound catchweight as Oscar did?

You could make that case for Cotto, but DLH was clearly a natural LMW at that point who had been fighting at the weight for over six years.

 

Peds are so widely available and advanced in the US most are at it.. it's almost an unfair disadvantage not to be on them. I have no doubt Mayweather is on something and has a system to get around the testing he has implemented. His accusations against Pac are probably true but I also think they were a smokescreen to deflect attention away from himself.

 

He wouldn't need to "make" 160 to fight someone there. He could come in at 150. He'd just be at a severe weight and natural size disadvantage, which is exactly the point of this thread: I want to see him take an L so I think he should move up two weight classes above his natural size. :yep
