Well if it was just Holy and it was an idiosyncratic view, it might not mean much. But it's a widely held view by the great majority of the ATGs who have weighed in on the issue (Foreman, Ali, Duran, Hagler, Mosley, Tyson etc.)

So yes, Floyd's legacy will be irreparably damaged by the absence of the other great of the era on his resume. In fact, at this stage, the fight has lost much for its lustre, but there is at least a small window left where it could still have some meaning.

As far as l'il' Floyd losing sleep, that part is both true, but irrelevant.

Floyd's take on the issue is irrelevant as to how he will be judged in the pantheon of the greats.

True in that his standing matters less to him than his $$$, his health, his zero etc.

Manny never asked any of his opponents for 10 mil per pound. He asked floyd. Floyd said yes.

Manny later (years down the road) went on to advocate for random blood testing when he got his ass kicked

Exactly that's why he asked for the testing. PAC was suspect. Beating up cotto like that!!! Really...Margarito like that??? Really?? Now look at him.... Wheres that knock out power gone??

Something was dodge with PAC back then, bottom line is if your clean you'd take the test right?

10 mill pound penalty because duckweather has history of not making weight on the scales(marquez fight)

when does pac have history of failing a drug test?

Well thats all that matters. His legacy and his money is irrelevant to me as a fan. I dont lose sleep over this stuff and on my job, I dont care what people think of me as long as I am doing what I have to do to keep getting paid and providing for my family. I dont care about my legacy there and what people thought. Business is business. I leave the personal out. Floyd apparently does too

It doesn't matter who's fault it is Holyfield and the rest of the ATG's are bang on. With that kind of money on the table there's absolutely 0 people who can honestly think that this fight couldn't have been made.

Fair enough, he's entitled to do that, but then he should lose the moniker and TBE as well. You can't have it both ways.

    Context, son.

Manny never failed a drug test before.

Floyd DID fail to make weight, and against a little fella who was already moving up two weight classes.

We don't need to rehash the whys and wherefores all over again.

    It's been done to death.

Fact is, most in the boxing establishment have concluded that Floyd has consistently avoided a fight he didn't want.

    Fact.

What's that have to do with anything? You want to take the tests and fight or you don't? Unless you fast forward several years and you are in debt to Arum and the tax man and suddenly RBT doesn't sound so bad.. Come off it, Pac and his team didn't want the fight in 09 because of the testing. I guess he had a sudden change of heart for the Rios fight for considerably less money. Pac fans are ridiculous!!!

Your last sentence is true but if he is continuing to get paid then who cares. If people choose to still watch him thats their business and when manny requested the same blood test for rios and marquez, neither had failed a drug test eithere so now its back within context son.

Dude its no different from ali calling himself the greatest before his accomplishments. He himself admitted it was marketing strategy. Besides its a nickname. WHO CARES. I guarantee you this. If any oyher boxer years down the road calls themselves TBE people will chastise him and reference Floyd mayweather and that is exactly what floyd wants. Mission complete.
