The best active journalists/authors/broadcasters/observers today?

    I tend to think that journalistic and broadcasting standards have generally declined in recent years: many of the old hands are either deceased or retired but who are the best replacements in operation today?

    Either side of the pond.

    For me, no broadcasting team that i've heard beats a prime Larry Merchant and Jim Lampley, mixed with a former champion. I've far from heard all broadcasters, of course. And no one is worse than Max Kellerman.

    As far as writers are concerned, there can't be anyone better than Mike Casey. You can really expand your boxing knowledge by reading him.

    Aye, Casey is most definitely the goods; I pay close attention to most of his articles. A real love of the sport comes across from the page with Casey as well as historical knowledge.

    From the UK, I quite like Bob Mee as both writer and commentator.
