I think I’ve said before - I’ve read the Jeffries and Johnson books - I’m just over half way in on Adam’s book on Fitz and have Dempsey Part 1 in hand to read next.

Just finished the section on the first Fitz v Sharkey fight. Fantastic drawing from multiple sources which actually corroborate one another in large part but for a few natural differences of opinion here and there.

I can tell you now, I’d trade up in an instant on the vision from Jeffries - Sharkey and Jeffries - Ruhlin for equal vision of Bob v Tom - it reads as a far more action filled and compelling fight. Anyway….dreaming on..

I know, right? A standard that you could never regress back from and endure any lesser quality in a book. I know there are a few Langford books out there - I’d love a treatment by Adam on Sammy - a huge job I know - but it’d be great!

When exchanging with some posters - you come away feeling like you’ve undergone a partial “online” lobotomy - having lost some valuable neutrons via the mere interactive association and necessary “dumbing”‘down - a low level of thinking that one day you yourself might not be able to rebound back from even when you try - LOL.

Have you read Clay Moyle's Langford book?

I know some, but Corbett and most others didn't change their mind immediately (like the next day), they kept retired for several years.
While the time previously to the bout was a far longer lay-off. It is unusually to come back after two years just to retire and then box again few months later...
It doesn't make any sense, let alone to throw for that reason the gloves out of the ring, before the celebration (announcement), that is not conclusive and very odd.
Everyone who has not the Fritzsimmon-blinkers on, would recognize this.

That proves my point very well; you don't have any from the European main continent (rather Europe) nor Asia in it.
This is nationalistical and kind of racism:
Most people have Monzon in it and if you would appreciate Olympic Boxing (not doing it is also ignorance), then you most likely out to have had Stevenson, Papp and Savon in it (possible even Rigondeaux or Lomaschenko).
Cuba is actual the boxing nation number 1, not USA.

'IF' someone READ Something, then that person is NOT Lying, PERIOD!

what was read, or written 'might' not have been accurate, or was a bit scant in detail, but again - the Person who read it or cites it is neither Wrong or Lying - the Information is.

What is wrong with some of you, can't you have Decent RESPECTFUL Conversation with people and simply discuss information available, stating when & where necessary "I hear you bud, but Wait that isn't quite right, or not quite the whole story, or that piece of information is not quite the Full Fact"...

Recognize the contribution, admit the person didn't make it up and again discuss the cited material.

too many A Holes on the Internet that simply just blank info for their sick & unhealthy need to assault or 'think' they OWNED someone or schooled someone... who do some of you think you are.

If someone cites Documentation, that PERSON Isn't Wrong even 'IF' the Documentation is...

especially as some people would rather PRETEND such Documentation doesn't exist, except of course what 'They say'...

the FACTS - are, as Much Contemporary Documentation as possible, weighed against one another... That's the FACTS!

    Not People persay... RESPECT!

The glove toss has already been discussed and rationalised without foul play involved.

No one’s wearing blinkers here, you’d know that if you took off your blindfold. Bazinga!

No, though I am aware that it’s out there. I’m guessing you have?

Excellent, thanks! I might chase it up. No slight on Mr Moyle but I’ve become very much a fan of Adam’s style and structure - very unique.

I’m heading into the match v Corbett in my Fitz book. Exciting.

From what I’ve read so far in the book - I’m putting my money on the durable, power punching Fitz to knock the wind out of that blow hard Corbett. Of course I’m a fanboy - I stand as accused.

Let’s see how it unfolds and if my prediction comes true. LOL.

For me either Lennox or Calzaghe. I think if your looking at pure skill and pound for pound achievements you have to go with Calzaghe. But Lennox made a name for British Boxing. He went to America and defeated all of the big Americans heavyweights in dominate fashion. And Ever since Lewis became the undisputed champion no American has ruled the heavyweight division the same way they used to again

You can't knock Calzaghe ,he was never beaten, and his fight with Lacy is a masterclass, but he got his two best opponents when they were in decline.
Fitz held 3 world titles. Driscoll got the better of Abe Attell.Buchanan went abroad to win his title in the other guys backyard as did Kid Lewis. Jimmy Wilde was one great fighter,as was Benny Lynch. We can't be too dogmatic about others choices as imo several of them are on a par. Lennox is a top5 all time heavy imo and as such is an excellent choice.

I had Schulz losing against Foreman and also Huck against Powetkin....

You got even once banned for racism here, of your 5 or 6 times, McVey...errrm Rainer....Tono62.... McVey2.... Tonto62...

So it is comical you asked me this when you had more lifes here than most users years to have lived.
Your only reason to be here is to annoy other members.
So when you hijack any of my topics again to provaked me with ridiculous comments, like you did about nationality about certain boxers, then this profile could be over soon. Will you came back as McTono62 or Rainer_Vey or McTonto3?

I'd vote Fitz if I considered him English but I dont so Lennox edges out Wilde for me.
