GSP is, quite frankly, a dreadful style match-up for the Californian and, on paper at least, the bout is one of the most-lopsided you are likely to find between two of the sports best.

People can talk all they want about how anything can happen in MMA (and there is undeniably an element of truth to that), but unless St-Pierre gets careless (something hes become so good at NOT doing) and leaves his neck exposed for a guillotine, its hard to fathom a way Shields can be victorious.

What threat does Shields pose that St-Pierre hasnt seen and dominated before? Hes faced better strikers, better wrestlers, and for as great as Shields jiu-jitsu is, its not the type of dynamic submission-based attack thats going to terrorize the ultra-talented and highly scrupulous St. Pierre, as B.J painfully discovered.

Its no secret that Shields has to get the fight to the floor to even have a hope of winning. But just how does he do that? His wrestling is good, but not great. He doesnt own a dynamite shot and doesnt set up his takedowns particularly well. Against a fast and powerful athlete with top-notch defensive wrestling, sloppy singles simply wont cut it.
