This! The ''blueprint'' must have a few different strategies all in one. If you fight at the same pace all the way through, he's going to beat you. If Pac can 'Judah' him for the first 4 rounds picking his shots wisely and taking advantage of Floyd starting slow, and be 3-1 up after 4, he could then try Freddies' 'beat him up' strategy. Hopefully force Floyd to the ropes and have a series of close debatable rounds til the 9th. Take a rest in the 9th. Then go at it again like a buzz saw for 10-12.

Easier said than done of course. But I envision a Pac victory like this, a 7-5 type score that is close and disputable.

I'll add throwing elbows, low blows, strikes to the back of the head, and biting to the one you already mentioned. There's also round-house kick to the head. If those don't stop Floyd, then nothing else will.

    1. PBF can't punch at WW
    2. He has great defence, particularly a great counter-puncher and timer of boxers coming in

If there is a "blueprint" to beat PBF, I think it is a boxer who is physically bigger and stronger - ie a big WW. If PBF can't be hurt, he won't lose. The boxer also needs decent skills or they will never be able to land a decent punch.

SSM is a decent sized WW who can punch and is very durable. However, PBF will not try to walk him down the way Margarito did, which played straight into SSM's strength.

Unfortunately, the only decent sized boxer PBF has fought in recent times, ODLH, was way past his best.

I don't know if there is a blueprint, or it just requires a really good WW. A guy like Tommy Hearns would be a very stern test, most likely KTFO PBF at some point in the fight.

The Pac matchup is mouth-watering, but I get the feeling PBF will do a number on Pac. Pac has his nemesis in JMM and PBF has shown time and again his ability to counter punch and adapt.

The pressure blueprint doesn't work. What works is jabs down the middle, a good right hand.
    A good right hand.
    And a good right hand.

1 - Hurt him badly with a punch to make him want to lock it down.

2 - Throw SHITLOADS of punches so the judges can l(ill)egitimately score rounds for you

3 - Get hit a lot without getting locked down

If you can't do 1, then 2 on it's own gets you beat. If you can't pull of 3, you're all ****ed up anyway.

Truth is the blueprint is not there because Pacquaio is not there (yet.)
The blueprint would be, do not stand in front of him. Fight at angles at all times.
Turn to his right instead of his left.
Use the right hand, the right hook in Manny's case to take advantage of Mayweather's dropped left hand.
If you're gonna use a left hook use it to the body not the head as his right hand is up at all times.
Repeat cycle over and over, fold Floyd up in his defensive posture.

I agree and if anything, i think the Hatton fight showed that he's improved against pressure fighters. He is very sneaky and strong up in close, and even if it's a dirty move, he uses his elbows well. Hatton said he was surprised how Floyd neutralized his pressure despite looking like he didn't do anything special.

But he did. The Castillo bout was 8 years ago and he set the record straight with an immediate rematch. Bring on Pac. Fight of the year!

I agree with you about everything but Pac. The general idea is that Pac is a pressure fighter/brawler. This is why he's knocking everyone out. There's actual skill to what Pac's doing. The man is not Castillo. But yes, the Castillo **** worked once. Mayweather beats everyone that tries to use that tactic. To beat Mayweather you have to creat a new blueprint.
