I didn't realise how inactive Boner had been. Way past his best at 32 and for all his talent has never won the really big fights. Another fighter Conner might catch at the right time.

Conor using the hashtag #FOTY made me laugh, a semi retired boxer turned pundit and chef as an opponent is Fight Of The Year, from the makers of "PPV Baby!"
Hearn says 7k tickets sold. Not bad at all for a Liverpool show headlines by a kid from Essex. Benn does have buzz around him.
I was going to mention that fight. Makes you think how good would a Coyle Benn fight have been. Could have been a war. Coyle could box when he wanted to but would have been drawn into a war with the one dimensional one. Benn would probably have won on just on hand speed and Coyle struggles with shots to the body. The build up would have been good too, clash of personalities of the ‘bad man’ Rich kid and the nice man from a genuinely tough place.... Work that out. I’d be surprised if Eddie hasn’t tried to tempt Coyle with that because that fight would make money with the right build up. God I can’t wait until Benn loses.
Algieri is a nice big name to pad the record with. As another non puncher he won’t test those whiskers on Benn either. I see they have avoided putting any punchers in with him so far, which makes me Amir Khan level suspicious of his punch resistance. As a semi retired and inactive Algieri, he will probably be on it for 3-4 rounds on adrenaline alone, until things start unravel very quickly.
Surely a fight of such magnitude wouldn't be financially viable on basic DAZN subscription. That fight has PPV written all over it! But if Broner's demands are too much, with him being a four weight world champion, where do they go from there providing they see off Gary Rhodes reincarnated? Perhaps Pauli can be tempted out of retirement. Since he got axed from Showtime commentary he may be looking for a payday and as an old but wiley two weight world champ slickster, with albeit limted power, he’s kept himself busy with some bareknuckle action so remains a dangerous opponent and fits the matchmaking mould of a Connor Benn opponent perfectly!
Benn looks tiny for this division. I was surprised by how much bigger Algieri looked then him a few times now, unless Algieri isn't needing to really boil down.
