the pressure fighting style and work rate of berto will be too effective against cotto. lololol.

anyway, i don't see berto getting very far. whenever someone jabs him he does that stiff arm. he's wide open for those lunging uppercuts cotto throws when he switches southpaw. i can't wait to see that.

    Emanuel Lewis :D...

This should be a really entertaining fight that Cotto should be able to pull out in about 9-10 rounds, but does he really benefit from fighting/beating Berto. If Cotto loses to a somewhat still unproven Berto he is as good as finished and will probably not be getting any big name fights afterwards. If he wins a tough SD he will be criticized to no end, and if he beats Berto convincingly does that do anything for his legacy or his chances of landing a fight with say Mayweather? I think most people, especially on this forum, would simply say "Cotto beat an overrated Berto who struggled with Collazo. Not that great of a win, any of the top fighters would have beat Berto."

As a boxing fan I want to see the fight because it is almost a guarantee that itÂ’s going to be entertaining and action packed, but as far as its benefits to Cotto's career I don't see any.

Berto needs to step up at some point in his career. This is a great time to show that he has what it takes against a top opponent who has shown his vulnerabilities in the past.

I'd watch it, definitely. I think Cotto takes it. Berto's shown me nothing yet to prove that he's elite. I don't think he can hang with a guy like Cotto who, despite his recent losses, is still most definitely an elite fighter.

I hate to say it but honestly i pick Berto of the current cotto. Ask me this 2 years ago and it'd be a different story but i think unlike Pac and Margo, Berto will actually put cotto out for the count. I think that his right upper will do so damage, and at times Berto is more relentless, and overall anymore i think he is more driven than Cotto. Berto by Late KO

I would love to see this fight. I guess there is an outside chance of it happening. Arum wants Cotto to fight Pac, Margo, or Chavez Jr. next. However, Pac might be fighting Mayweather next, Margo doesn't have a liscense to fight in the U.S and Cotto has made it clear that he won't fight him, and Chavez claims he can't make 154 anymore. That would open the door for Cotto vs. Berto. It would be a terrific fight it comes together.
