The Cubans have arrived, is anyone surprised?

What is going on with Heavywgt Luis Ortiz? Any word with him really stepping up in the near
future?

 

there legit . they usually have a great amature pedigree. that doesnt always translate to success in pro game. there alot of solid fighters right now from cuba lets see if one of them can emerge as a big dog. i think rigo has that chance. i dont see solis, gamboa, abril, or lara being anything more then they already are.

 

I love watching the Cubans fight; they are great for pro boxing. Can't wait to see Rigo Donaire this weekend; will be great to see two amazingly talented boxers in the ring together. Two boxers squaring off with their combined pedigree and skills does not happen often enough in this sport. Just a shame one has to lose. Really hope Gamboa starts fighting more often too as he is one of the most exciting boxers in the sport.

 

Hernandez shouldn't be champion, he got his ass whooped by Ross. Gamboa is very talented but he hasn't done much with his career with all that talent he has. I like Lara but his '1-2 grab' stuff he does is very annoying and he's not gonna win many fans with this. He has the ability to do so much more in the ring. Santana looks good but he's very raw.

no, because Cuban boxers focus on defense and footwork and timing, which are key ingredients to an intelligent fighter. Also Odlanier Solis could be a future champ. And Peter Quillin is Cuban American lol.

 

I'm just giving my opinion on the fighters TS mentioned. It's not hating it's showing love for the sport of boxing and keeping it real. And I said I liked Lara and he has the ability to be more spectacular in the ring.

PS : Oh and I just remembered Santana is with Don King. Damn.

 

Too bad the cuban fans dont support the fighters and no matter how good they are they are always fighting for peanuts instead on mega fights like some of them should.

I saw Vitali Klitschko knock Solis out with a right hook to the temple, Solis went down. It was a knockout. The video does not lie. The knockout had nothing to do with Solis' knee, he hurt his knee after he went down from the right hook. Solis has done nothing since that fight and never will...........

 

Only reason Cubans are great amateurs is because they never turn pro, while boxers from America are mostly amateurs when their teenagers.

 

Yeah cubans are soo great that solis/gomez are both holding heavyweight belts....Oh wait i was wrong. Lara show in his last fight what he's truely made of...oh wait in his last fight, it was a stinger and it ended a draw. Gamboa is busy taking roids then actually focused on being a future star. You forgot 1 thing, cubans are just great in the amateurs cause they get to wear their boxing headgear go figure.

 

You forgot Pepe Legrá, a cuban who went to Spain and won multiple times the EBU Featherweight belt and two times the WBC featherweight title.

He went 133-11-4 before retiring

This is also another ignorant philosophy. The vast majority of Cuban boxers win their first Gold between the ages of 18-21. But since there's no pro boxing in Cuba then they continue harvesting more Golds when they are older. This is a fact and if you want I can post PROOF.
