Clearly you weren't paying attention closely. Floyd was never Harris' mando. I just checked the WBA rankings from May of 2004 until May of 2005(the time period in which Floyd was ranked by the WBA at JWW). He was never ranked no.1 by the WBA during that time period.

Corley was the WBO champ when he lost to Judah. It's similar to Cotto. Cotto lost his WBA belt to Margo and then became ranked no.2 by the WBC. It's conceivable that he could fight Collazo in a title eliminator coming off a loss.

This is a ranking that Floyd was given when he moved up. He was going after the WBC title. Check Floyd's history. You are doing nothing but pointing out another sorry scenario of Floyd taking the path of least resistance. Harris wanted kostya Tszyu and that is a fact.

I'm looking at it right now too lol. Even if he was Red, it was a ranking given to him.

No, you weren't lying, you just didn't give us Goosen's side of the argument. What did Goosen say to counter what AM's manager said? Just in case you didn't know... there are always two sides to an argument. You only give us what you believe that is in the best interest of YOU.

You think promoters set up fights to see who the best is????

You think networks care about setting up fights to see who the best is???

You think most of the fighters are interested in seeing who the best is???

If you do, you are very naive.

It's called money, and in order to make money you market the most marketable fighters. Money runs that business... like it or not, ***** about it all you want, but that is the cold hard truth. You guys act like Mayweather is the only one trying to cash in. I can't decide if that is just total naivity, ignorance, or both.

i agree with what you say but most fighters will fight anyone.

    depending on circumstance.

promoters are either the angel or the anti-christ.

    usually the latter.

If they did Pacquiao vs DLH wasn't going to be allowed to happen and all tickets weren't going to sell-out within hours. If Margarito did he wouldn't have called out DLH for his next fight and agree to move up to 154 for, he was going to call out Williams at 147 or Santos at 154(instead of DLH).

I hate promoters with a passion. They ruin the sport as do the multiple sanctioning bodies as well as the TV networks.

They are all guilty. The fighters are the last people I blame because they have the least amount of control over the situation and the most to lose. (Their health)

King, Arum, etc. are serious scumbags. Even networks like HBO and Showtime are part of the problem as fighters signed with each network can not fight each other unless they are HUGELY marketable.

Once again, money runs the show... not talent.

PBF may have been the slight favorite against those guys, but being the favorite doesn't mean jack ****. Look at Cotto, he was the favorite against Margarito, and we all know what happened. Point is, if Gayfeather would have fought Williams, Cintron, Cotto, Margarito, or Clottey for a belt, I say he could have easily gone 1-4. However, he fought Gatti, Baldomir, Judah, and a greedy business who has done nothing in the last couple of years and BARELY won. As I have stated before, if Margarito would have fought that same bunch, I guarantee he would have also been undefeated during that span. I also guarantee Tiger Woods wouldn't have walked out in his fight against Baldomir.

You can quit with the Santos loss. That "loss" wasn't a knockout loss nor a shutout at the time it was stopped. As usual, Margarito started off slow in that fight, but had certainly closed the scoring gap by the time the headbutt took place. However, the bout was in fact STOPPED due to a cut, and the judges in Puerto Rico had the Puerto Rican winning the fight (surprise, surprise). That is twice they have fought, and twice it has been stopped because of a cut.

Gayfeather beat who to become an all-time great? Brussels? Mitchell? Gatti? Baldomir? Sosa? Chavez? Judah? The only fighters on his resume that are really noteworthy (A+ material) are Castillo (who beat him in their 1st bout) and Corrales. G. Hernandez had already quit against ODLH, and was clearly past his best by the time Gayfeather got to him. Besides, he isn't what I would consider HOF material. Do you? Also, beating a businessman who has done NOTHING the last couple of years and BARELY squeezing out a win isn't something I would be proud of. Instead of proving himself against legitimate contenders and/or fighters, Gayfeather chose to cherrypick his way to certain wins. The sad part is that you swallowed hook, line, and sinker. If Gayfeather hadn't proclaimed to be the G.O.A.T. then that would be different. No one would be asking him to prove it. A lot of fans and media will remember Gayfeather for who he was, which is a talented fighter who refused to fight certain fighters and instead feasted on has-beens or never-were's. You can definitely make an argument about Gayfeather being the best in the lower weight classes, but to say he achieved ATG status just because he beat Hatton, the businessman, Baldo, Judah, Mitchell, and Gatti is laughable at best.

Either way, both of us have our opinions on Void Gayfeather and his legacy. You see him as an ATG. I see him as a boxer who took the path of least resistance, and then retired rather than face Margarito. To quote Gayfeather, he told Margarito in the eye and said something to the effect of, "We'll meet later on down the road, and when we do, it will be bigger and better." With that, Gayfeather shook Margarito's hand and wet his pants as soon as Margarito walked away. Knowing full well he had just faced his worst nightmare, Gayfeather let out a big sigh of relief, and cried in Ellerbe's arms. O.k. so maybe it didn't exactly happen that way, but he did in fact tell Margarito that one day they would face each other in the ring. Let's see how you spin this one.
