Before Pac, Clottey is one of the WW being avoided, even at present.

  5. Dizzle,

    Thank you for the enlightenment.

I always knew Pacquiao was a garbage fighter. Your post just confirmed it for me.

Clottey isn't an HOF, or top p4p fighter like those listed--but he is a one of the better welterweights out there. He actually looked good vs Margarito(L, doing well before he broke his hands), Cotto(Can speculate about this fight), and Judah(W). The way Pac handled him with a wide UD is pretty impressive. Again, you can speculate about his lack of effort but that's not Pac's fault.

This. The other belts dont mean **** really, but his legacy will have the boost of KTFOing dudes that were supposedly too big for him.

Not a bad post though. He is not SRR or Tommy Hearns, but I think he is doing well for himself when it comes to his legacy.:good

None of the guys you've mentioned have a "distorted legacy". For the most part they are all seen with the right amount of balance. Roy really did himself and his legacy damage by continuing to fight on, but ultimately his prime years will be what is taken into consideration. Evander is anther example of "tarnishing" his legacy that is VERY STRONG.

PAC, DLH and RJJ are great fighters with great resumes. PAC by far has the strongest and most consistant legacy. DLH has a lot of great names and close competitive fights but he's lost most of his BIGGEST fights. And there were A LOT of those.

Roy has great wins over great talents in their primes but as he moved up he became complacent and dominated for a long time over weak opposition.

PAC has consistantly facing BIGGER and more risky challenges since coming to the US to fight and train. Anyone can "look" for reasons to discredit ANY RESUME! And it could sound reasonable but that is just OVER anaylzing and discrediting unjustly.

Ray Leonard, Robinson, Ali ect.....have all be a victim of this unfortunately.

Why doesnt he respond to this and WTF is the thread starter mentioning Leonard for not only was he an alphabet holder , he fought for multi weight WBC (we be crooks) belts at the same time and they even created a new division just to give him a belt !!!!

Maybe he should actually look at who hes comparing Pac to as he was obviously no taware of the fab four fights and title situations

    add this:

Pac had FIXED FIGHTS against Oscar, Clottey and now against Margarito.
3 FIXED FIGHTS on his resume

Pac ducks more fighters (that called him out), than anyone.

    Pac ducked Gary St. Clair
    Pac ducked Humberto Soto
Pac ducked Edwin Valero (when he was alive)
    Pac ducked Joan Guzman
    Pac ducked Michael Katsidis
    Pac ducked Shane Mosley
    Pac ducked Tim Bradely
    Pac ducked Floyd Mayweather
    Pac ducked Juan Diaz
Pac ducked Marquez (for a 3rd fight)
    Pac ducked In Jin Chi
    Pac ducked Paul Williams
Pac ducked Miguel Cotto (the rematch)
    Pac ducked Kendall Holt
    Pac ducked Nate Campbell
