You've shown your bias by scoring round 3 and round 11 both for Maidana. Both of those rounds can't go to the same fighter, because both rounds were a role reversal.
Round 3 goes to Khan. Watch the video, check the stats, it was Khan's. As posted by rjko23 in another thread, Khan landed the more effective shots and made maidana miss most of his... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eS-JlrPD5ig[/ame] This content is protected Defy that... chump!!
I just watched the fight again and scored it. Round 1: Khan 10-8 Round 2: Khan 10-9 Round 3: Maidana 10-9 Round 4: Khan 10-9 Round 5: Khan 10-9 Round 6: Khan 10-9 Round 7: Maidana 10-9 Round 8: Khan 10-9 Round 9: Khan 10-9 Round 10: Maidana 10-8 Round 11: Maidana 10-9 Round 12: Maidana 10-9 114-111 Khan That's my score, without the elbow. I refuse to count the elbow anyway since it was a really bad call. And still Khan won by 3 points. However! There is a case to be made that Khan could have been knocked out or at least down at 1:13 of the 10th round when Cortez broke up the action FOR NO ****ING REASON. Khan turns his back on Maidana, tries feebly to hang on to one arm, and gets hit with a big right hook and then Cortez breaks it up and gives Khan a good 7-8 seconds to recover, quite possibly saving the fight for Khan. If Cortez hadn't broke up the action there it could be a different outcome because Khan was clearly on ***** street at that point and looked to be going down, and Maidana was unloading big shots on him. Had Cortez not saved him at the perfect time, Khan would likely have went down and who knows if he would get back up... that's my problem with this fight. Otherwise it was a clear victory for Khan but thanks to Cortez's questionable actions make it controversial to me. 7 seconds of one guy being on ***** street and the other unloading on him can make all the difference in the world in boxing, as you guys all know. I suggest you take a look at 1:13 of the 10th round to see what I'm talking about and judge for yourself. I have nothing against Khan and he deserves praise for taking that huge shot and not going down like everybody thought he would. He did everything right in this fight, but to me Cortez ****ed up big time so I think Maidana and the fans deserve a rematch. Hopefully it will happen in the future.
Points are deducted for intentional fouls. It doesn't matter whether you hit your opponent. The point deduction was right on the money. Round 10 is a Picture perfect example of a no knockdown 10-8 round. The third round I gave to Khan by the way, Maidana was busier but Khan was far more acurate and landed crisper shots. You just have to be able to look past the uppercuts that Maidana lands.
Everyone WATCH round 3 and take your khan tinted glasses off It's a clear clear maidana round punch stats are bull**** khan missed a lot in that round If you give round 3 to khan you lose all credibility on this site
Whats with all the "IF" debates regarding this fight? It was close, i think Khan was the deserved winner. Whats done is done.
I have watched it 10 times it's a maidana round he closed down khan constantly and hit khan quite a bit khan was basically running and landed a couple of pot shots that looked flashy but doesn't win him the round Although I agree round 11 is debatable and all khan huggers will automatically give any close round to khan anyway. But round 3 which at first I thought belonged to khan simply didn't it's a clear clear maidana round.
Maidana only landed slightly more than Khan, a few of which were counted when Maidana was hitting Khan to the body in the clinch when they were already told to stop and break. Maidana didn't hit Khan 'a lot'. He landed a few ineffective uppercuts on the inside and a few weak left hooks to the body. He didn't land a hard, effective punch the entire round. Maidana closed Khan down but Khan for the most part showed good ring generalmanship to circle away from him and covered up well for the most part aswell. Khan landed some of his best and most effective punches of the fight, he landed a huge counter right uppercut that got the crowd on their fight with a decent left behind it. And then with his back on the ropes and Maidana pressing, fired a big right hand and a hard, short left hook that momentarily buckled Maidana. There is no way that was a Maidana round. I'll rewatch round 3, but I thought it was close at first viewing.
Are you living in some fantasy world where there is one judge??? There are three judges for a reason, its open to interpretation but 114-111 or 113-112 are right depending on the person scoring. It was a close fight, but Khan WON....****ing deal with it!! If you are unable to sleep cause of the result Chump, then i suggest sleeping tabs.
