DECISION: Mensa wins decision! Scoring of one judge way off, but right man wins. Full respect to Katsidis; but unfortunately gone! Tomorrow will be even better!
betvictor had odds up later than everyone else. mensa was 11/1 and I put 200 on as soon as decision announced. However, they had removed the line minutes earlier. Some lucky sod would have gotten 11/1 no doubt, althoughthat is palpable
I passed out at about 2, missed the fights. I'm not all that shocked Kats lost, he's clearly on the slide and not big at 140. He should hang 'em up, with his style there's no good hanging around taking beatings. I'm sad Reyes lost too. With everything he's been through he shouldn't have been in the ring although he'd never have chosen to pull out. Wrong account, I'm not banned just on my phone.
Theres some (mainly crap) silverware on the line in that Stevenson-Gonzales fight! IBF Inter-Continental super middleweight title WBC Silver super middleweight title WBO NABO super middleweight title NABA super middleweight title
April 20: Adonis Stevenson vs Noe Gonzalez Alcoba, Eleider Alvarez vs Rayco Saunders, Oscar Rivas vs Kendrick Releford 2am, ESPN2/ESPN America In the main event from Montreal, powerful but chinny super middleweight prospect/fringe contender Adonis Stevenson faces relatively unknown Noe Gonzalez Alcoba from Uruguay. Stevenson has shown, if nothing else, that he's a great power puncher: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yAZMAJ7r6J8[/ame] This first-round blowout of Jesus Gonzales is an early KO of the year candidate, and follows an equally impressive win over Aaron Pryor Jr, becoming the first man to stop Pryor after 9 one-sided rounds. In his lone loss he was stopped early by Darnell Boone, who has a very deceptive record but is still a test a prospect should be expected to pass. That fight was only 2 years ago but he's been on a great run since then. Alcoba, a Uruguayan who has fought mostly in Argentina and also in the US and Mexico, has 2 notable fights on his record: a fairly clear points loss to Felix Sturm in Germany and a 4th round KO of former champion Mariano Natalio Carrera, a win that sent Carrera into retirement. Whilst Sevenson should be the favourite based on his recent form, with his obvious weaknesses the upset shouldn't be ruled out. There are 2 slightly notable undercard bouts, I'm not sure which one they will show. Quebec-based Colombian prospects Eleider Alvarez (light heavyweight) and Oscar Rivas (heavyweight) are both being somewhat fast-tracked into bouts with capable and durable US journeyman Rayco Saunders and Kendrick Releford.
