Felix Sturm vs Koji Sato I know I'm probably going to get alot of heat for this thread but I just got round to watching a DVD version of this fight and this was a complete mismatch and Sturm is getting paid for fighting these guys. My granny can punch harder than this Sato dude. Come on now I cant wait to see Sturm get his ass handed back to him by world class opposition. Sato was throwing punches like he had 2 broken ****ing hands in there Whats up with that, some cotton punches. Sturm could of taken this guy out in the 1st round if he just went in there and laid into him. I could beat Sato for ****s sake lol. I just wanted to get some of your thoughts whether positive or negative. if you have seen this fight. I am already expecting major heat for this thread but I dont care because Sturm is a joke and whilst I am on the subject there is a few more fighters I could add to the list of jokes but Ill leave that down to you guys...
Sturm always gets negative response here despite him being the only one last year to beat a top5 middleweight opponent, so you should watch that fight. He's underrated, and if the Pavlik fight gets made, people will be VERY surprised.
He beats world class opponents and gets robbed so he probably though '**** it' if I might as well take easy victories.
Don't afree,he's a good fighter. He fought a couple of good guys in between those weak opponents. Gevor is also a good opponent.But yes he was chicked to duck Abraham.
yeah...you are right. sturms one REAL loss was that KO by castillejo. but really sturm tried to fight a more "crowd pleasing" style and got all careless. then he played it safe and won the rematch. people seem to forget that the guy beat a close to prime ODLH (poor judging aside). If Kelly cant break him down he's going to be outpointed.
also, his "loss" against oscar was more impressive than hopkins win (disregarding the "liver punch" ending).
No, I agree. He's a joke. Abraham's people offered him over a million (can't remember if it was Euros or GBP converted) for the fight and he said no. As long as the crowds flock to see him in Germany he will continue to fight bums. You never know- he may unify with the WBU 'Champion' soon. Whoever that is.
Do you really think he has the activity level to beat Pavlik? Sturm can box well but Pavlik will find him and his workrate is much higher than Sturms and I cant see Sturm knocking Pavlik out. Why should we be very surprised? Sturm boxes well and I agree he got robbed against Oscar but what exactly does he do that Kelly Pavlik would not be able to deal with?
