Since you're in the UK, have you ever saw AJ out and about?

Can't see how it was better except for maybe in hindsight. Yes, Lewis and Bowe were two exciting up and comers, but they hadn't really beaten anyone of major importance at the time (before they beat Holy and Ruddock respectively). Meanwhile, the guy most thought still thought was the best, Tyson, was in jail. Holy had looked quite uninspiring since KO'ing Douglas, struggling with 70's fighters in their 40's.

At least today, the two seemingly best, Usyk and Fury, look set to face off. This could still be derailed like Holy-Tyson was, but it hasn't as of yet. Then there's Zhang and Hrgovic, and maybe also some life left in Joshua and Wilder.

Yes, the 1992 crop was about 10 years younger than the top guys today, so there is that. But 1992 was quite deflated with Tyson out of the picture. In hindsight it looks good with what was to come: the Holy-Bowe trilogy, Holy's dramatic comeback against Tyson and the career Lewis went on to have, but there was of course no one who knew that back then.

What we knew was that the seemingly best HW was in jail and had left us with what looked like a fairly average champion in the bigger picture.

No, I live in the north of England, he's more likely to be seen down south.
Tho I did see Tyson Fury a number of years ago in Manchester.
