1- it doesnt matter his accomplishments, his world championship will not fight for him Jacobs by KO Plus Jacobs is a middleweight, Laras at 154, he should fight Omar Henry 2- Not the greatest but one of the greatest, I wouldnt go that far 3. I don't dislike him, but reality check will come in once Juanma knocks him out
lol i hold similar sentiments This. Only Korobov, Golovkin, N'Jikam & Pirog will all probably beat him. Jacobs will never, ever, be top dog with those 4 around. Yup, decent skills but nothing spectacular. Notice how everything he won during his 'amazing' amateur career is National, nothing International. Korobov - 2005 & 2007 WORLD Amateur Champion Amateur record 310 - 11 against the worlds best Golovkin - 2003 World Amatuer Champ & 2004 Olympic Silver That is what truly World Class Amateur resumes look like, not golden glove winners. And as for your mythical 'Jacobs would KO Korobov if they ever fought' ...................................Reality (5:55 to see Jacobs knocked on his ass & 7:50 for the replays, let it sink in) [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0R_LJ3HgYgo[/ame] And as for why he's on ever major PPV undercard, his promoters have done a very good job trying to get him exposure. What the **** else do you think they're going to try to do. BTW Korobov is on those same undercards.
wow! why is korobov not fighting anymore? or as much...he is a stud...I rate jacobs behind Andrade, korobov, and lara
andrade beat him as well....rican9 is just an idiot who apparently loves jacobs enough to discredit anyone else as somehow a bum....korobov embarrassed him in the amateurs
Rican, even though the amateur accomplishments do not guarantee success for the pros it's a major 80%! Lara has poison in his left hand and can box toe to toe with anyone. Lara has faced better opposition as an amateur as Jacobs, would had beaten him in the AM's and will beat him today. Lara has said that he will fight anyone from 147 to 160lbs, no prob, just bring Danny on... Rigondeaux has done something that absolutely no one has done in the past as a professional boxer, 2 Olympic Gold medals, 7 times Cuban National Champion and many times World Amateur Champion! Not even the greatest of the greatest of the pros has ever done this. To win that many Major International events, he has to be " the greatest counterpuncher of all times "... I completely disagree with you about Gamboa. I saw a hurt Lopez against Mtagwa, struggling and falling against the ropes and holding the ropes for his life. Mtagwa is a C- fighter and you will see what my boy Yuriorkis does to him on January. Lopez looked very bad and vulnerable, taking all sort of shots from a journeyman Mtagwa, if he gets hit like that, then he will not survive Gamboa's lighting fast and powerful flurries. It's not a matter of Country pride but a matter of technique, and Gamboa has many upper hands against Lopez...
Yup, Korobov has been pretty active. He fought 4 times in the first 4 months as a pro. Then fought 3 times in about a month & a half. He took four months off and then just fought on the Pac-Cotto undercard vs Winchester. Winchester was tough as nails and took a hell of a beating. Korobov's body punching is Jirov level epicness, beautiful stuff. I have all his pro fights except for his 7th fight vs Diaz which wasn't televised. He's coming along nicely, just hope they have him fighting regular again, once every month or two.
The people who were talking about how Jacobs isn't that good. Honestly he may have struggled against Ishe Smith but everyone struggles with Ishe Smith. I have seen no one dominate him at all. Demetrius Andrade struggled against Chris Chatman. Who the hell is Chris Chatman? A good number of people say Andrade lost that fight. And so what if he lost to a couple of guy's in the amateur's, Pavlik lost to Taylor in the AM's and Tyson lost to Henry Tillman. I agree with Korobov being better than Jacobs but not Andrade.
