Not just replying to you Craney but others, I think people have taken my OP comment about UFC as a point. It's not really all i'm saying is UFC came as a threat when i was posting here in 2008 people would mention it a fair bit but i've always had faith the sweet science would stand tall. Boxing's still doing well and both sports have it's hardcore fans and casuals.

  2. Everyone's different but I've tried UFC and don't like it,the grappling bores me

Boxing has the prestige, the history, the venues, characters, global appeal and recognition and much more

I'm biased but for me boxing dwarfs UFC in nearly every aspect

There is some skill to it and the ground game, obviously. But most people just want to see a tear up anyway, they dont wanna see all that rolling around ****.

It renders the sport pointless. If you aint prepared to appreciate the whole of the game, and just the punching, then go watch boxing.

But lets be balanced here, dickhead fans were booing in that Rigo-Donaire fight.

It was a ****ing boxing masterclass (as far as I am concerned) and dickhead casuals were booing it.

I think my problem is actually mainly with the fans today, and not just the sports.

It was embarrassing seeing posters moan about Rigo's win because he ''ran''. Bollocks did he!. Rigo had Donaire backing up at times and boxed beautifully but as you say some want to see a tear up.

 Don't worry mate better then other replies i've seen in this thread...

  10. But booing fights were the sweet science is being demonstrated rather than a war is almost entirely an American thing, there crowds are intolerant to chess matches in the ring

Our crowds are more knowledgeable and respectful for boxers trying to entertain and earn a living

The point is though mate, the forum finally gets a proper thread about boxing and the future, and where boxing was when you joined the forum, something this forum needs a lot more of, than just agenda ridden threads, tv threads, eddie vs frank threads, and here we are talking about UFC!

Im just gonna blame myself here, I wish I hadn't of done that rant/post, im still giving something I dont particularly like the time of day and my energy. If you dont like something, its not worth talking about!

Why are we talking about it again? :nut

Talk boxing or GTFO :deal .....is now appealing to me. :patsch

NOTE TO SELF: NO MORE UFC FROM NOW ON!

.....it is crap though init? :rofl

with a 40% tax rate in vegas being put into effect they are looking to put major fights else where in the world

mayweather and other high earners are looking to england and other places. i know macau is favourite to be the new vegas, but i f they do come to the uk it means affordable tickets and maybe normal bedtimes. this could really up interest here in the uk.
