Looks like Martinez priced himself out of a fight with Gamboa ( ala Johnny Gonzales ) , damn , that was the perfect fight for Yuri to start his domination of the 130's . Shame on "Rocky" but I don't blame him , after his loss to Burns Gamboa is the last fighter you want to re-start your career with .

Rigo is always in shape, u will never see him overweight,he can fight very well at 118.Actually the idea was always to pick a belt at 118 and then 122. But he just having a hard time finding someone to fight at either weight

 

yeah, Martinez comeback against gamboa was not a good idea,that's why he was asking for more money- it make sense.

True , I would have prefered him to start at 118 as well then go on to 122 , he still can fight without much difficultty at both weights or even at 126 . Rigo's discipline is awesome , he's always training and his body shows it , I always said that Rigo could be the next B.Hopkins , he could very well keep on boxing well into his forties , he takes good care of himself and he doesn't receives that much punishment when he boxes . That's exactly what I think he can do. Out of all the Cuban defectors none of them have been able to fight strongly after their mid 30's and examples include Casamayor, Hurtado and JC Gomez but Rigondeaux could be the exception to the rule. You can tell that he is always in shape and training and like you said he hardly gets hit in the ring.

Imagine if Rigo can fight strongly until 42-43? Wow, I would love to see that! If he can do that and defeat everyone in his path he is definitely headed for the Hall of Fame and P4P #1 status but first he must deal with Ramos tonight!

WBA interim champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux (9-0, 7 KOs) scored a spectacular sixth round knockout over previously unbeaten WBA super bantamweight champion Rico Ramos (20-1, 11 KOs) on Friday night at the Pearl Theatre at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. Rigondeaux got Ramos’ respect early by dropping him with a straight left in round one. The former amateur star dominated every minute of the fight until putting Ramos down for the count with a left to the body in round six. Time was 1:29. After the fight, Rigondeaux called out Nonito Donaire

 

Not trying to jump on the bandwagon, but Rigo will beat anyone in his weight class, including Donaire. Some folks are saying Rigo doesn't show a lot in his fights, but I disagree. He fights based on his opponents' style. If he's matched with a more aggressive fighter, he'll step up his own pace, and I still think he'll outshine anyone. I just don't think we've seen the best of him yet, which is scary considering how exceptionally good he already is.

 

Damn I missed it by ONE round , I had Rigo winning by KO in the 5th , congrats to Rigo for the win anyways , now bring on Donaire . Peace .

I think he should take on Ndvoulo ( or whatever his name is written ) for a belt , that would be easy , then Arce or Nishioka ( Nonito ) , anyways , my point is that Rigo should step up from now on , no more unknowns fighters . There's plenty of good oposition in the 122's for Arum to choose . Peace .
