It's very nice to read about Peter Quillin ( kid Choc ). As a matter of fact he does look a lot like the real kid Chocolate. So he actually went to Cuba! Wow, I am sure that it was a great experience for him. He is half Cuban but it looks like he feels more Cuban than Afro-American. He is a very good and powerful boxer, but I am afraid that if he becomes World Champion that we will not be able to say, " we have another Cuban Champion " as he is not 100% fully Cuban...:good

 

Damn you guys are too sensitive about the cuban boxers nobody can say anything remotely negative or you guys get all panties worked up. All i said was why have just one thread about all the cuban boxers. When there are so many and you can be talking about a bunch of different subjects and having different threads would be easier to follow. I love cuban boxing been following it my whole life so i aint no hater just a realist. I loved it when they won 11 gold medals in barcelona and sholdve won 12 but DLH got one gift wrapped so he could continue with his hype.

Of all the cubans that have come to the US only Gamboa and casamayor have done great. The rest have dome ok but not dominated like some of you think they would do. Hurtado didnt have enough power in his hands to keep people away. Jorge Luis Gonzales he was just hype. Rigondeaux is just starting but he's already over 30yrs old so he has little time. And the rest lest see it looks like they're taking their sweet ass time and making money of their rep.

Mister Puertorricane, If you are interestet in cuban fighters you find info and opinions in this thread. Most threads just have peoples opinion. Here is a lot of info too,and everybody whos really interestet do search and read about the fighters they like.
So if its interesting, read if you dont want to read, then i suppose you are not really interestet. Thats it !!!

Yeah hes a bad ass dude. I've had the privilege of seeing him wup some ass in that ring (I'm from Milwaukee and I've been at his gym for a couple years myself). He puts in a lot of work in that gym, great to see the success he has. I'll be rooting him on. Its humbling to see what these guys put themselves through just to be among the best.

My friend was with rigo he said that rigo was impressed with her and didnt expect her to be that good!

(obviously she doesnt look too good in there with rigo but shes a pretty talented boxer!)

my friend also told me that she was a big fan of rigo so when she found out he was in Ireland her team contacted Gary Hyde to set up the spar and rigo was happy to do it.

I gotta say the people are loving rigo over here he's been taking pics with kids and signing autographs

he was more than happy to let people get pics with his belt as well

Undefeated Cuban super featherweight prospect Rances Barthelemy (9-0, 7 KOs), will return to action tonight (Friday) in his adopted home city of Miami, Florida. The 24-year-old former amateur standout will face Bahamian veteran Anthony "Psycho" Woods in a six rounder at the Magic City Casino.

Barthelemy is the younger brother of 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist Yan Barthelemy and a budding star in his own right. Standing 5' 11" at just 130 lbs, Barthelemy has torn through his professional opponents, ending six of his first nine fights in the first round.

While brother Yan's professional career has been disappointing, Rances has continued to impress observers with his aggression and punching power.

"Rances is one of the best prospects in boxing," said his co-promoter Leon Margules of Warriors boxing (along with Bad Dog Productions). "He didn't start out as well known as his brother but that's because he defected several years back and never fought for the Cuban National Team. But he also couldn't compete in nationals in the US because he was Cuban."

Margules says he's confident his fighter is ready to begin moving up the ladder this year, with an eye toward entering the world rankings.
