anytime i figure a fight should be an easy win for somebody the opposite usually happens, i def wouldnt bet on lockett winning this one, but im not as sold on pavlik as most in here appear to be

I see a few people tryng to make a case for Locketts chances. Fact is ofcourse he has a chance like any fighter has a chance against anyoe he fights. but realitically if Gary Lockett were to win it would be an upset of Lloyd Honeyghan proportions.

I dont think so personally.i do like Pavlick however if he had lost to Lockett(or any other opponent of that stature) in his last fight it would very diffrent from what we are looking at now.

I think Pavlick is a good, possibly through time a great fighter but i feel he should unify the middleweight division first.

it would also be a closer fight than most seem to predict.

Of course we wouldn't...but that would be because he lost to a 15 to 1 underdog and in that regard would deserve not even the look at fighting Calzhage. I'm not sure what you are trying to say here though? Pavlik probably deserved a shot before Lockett, and certainly after it.

Lockett would have been P4P top six if he'd managed to knock out Pavlik's fists with his face. A Calzaghe fight would have been unavoidable. It would guarantee a 250000 crowd in Cardiff and would have been a PPV monster.

What is the point of this?

Obviously Calzaghe vs. Pavlik would be less appealing if Pavlik lost to Lockett....

 I'm trying to grasp what your thought process is but can't figure it out.

If Pavlik had lost to Locket would we be demanding him to fight Calzaghe? then you say Pavlik is good maybe great but he should try to unify middleweight. And then you say it would be a closer fight than people think.

    What's your point exactly?

also can i please have some of what you're smoking

John Chavez is reporting that Pavlik-Lockett has set a new low for HBO WCB ratings, drawing just over 1 million viewers.

Than people wonder why Joe chose Roy !

This is why Pavlik needs to continue to build his status !

Maybe its not the drawing power of Pavlik.

Maybe its just how low the sport of boxing has gone.

I am a huge fan of boxing but i completely forgot that the fight was on.

I still would wanna watch pavlik fight instead of jones.

This shouldn't surprise anybody, the general US public has no interest in watching white fighters fight each other. It's the same reason nobody outside of fight fans watched Calzaghe-Kessler in the US.
