This is a good thing, the networks need to know if they put up crap match-ups they get crap ratings.

Locket had absolutely no business in the ring with Pav and everyone knew it.

What? 1M in a country of 300M? How disappointing... We're talking about the best young fighter the US can offer, an undefeated KO artist P4P-er, The MW Champ + a very good undercard matchup - and 1M?

How disappointing. I'm very said to read this...

it is more an indication that only out and out die hard boxing fans are tuning in stateside .

the casual boxing fan in america is simply not tuning in.

Or maybe it's that a mismatch like Pavlik-Lockett had no ****ing business being made into a WCB. Of course people won't tune in to watch that disgraceful of a mismatch. If a million people watched, then that's a testament to Pavlik's drawing power, because I can pretty much guarantee you that nobody watched it for Lockett, and nobody watched it to see a good boxing match.

when will people realise its not cotto, pavlik, ect... that is the problem

Its that boxing is no longer a drawing sport! unless you have two mega mega names... which shouldnt be the case

The ratings are always cut up into quarter hours and then combined at the end of the show. For example, the Pavlik card could have been as low as 2.0 on the Neilsen ratings but then jumped up to around 4.0 for the Pavlik fight, resulting in a 3.0 rating. Them numbers are probably well fof as I don't know wha the Neilsen ratings translate to. However, as the show was quite long, it's more than likely that it was the undercard which people didn't tune in to see as ShoBox had a fantastic main event for boxing fans, which was head to head with JuanMa/Ponce.

I think the numbers for both cards would have been strong. When you get things like this happening, there is usually a rating. You don't go from 600,000 PPV buys to 1m on free TV wthout a reason.

Pavlik isn't a great draw yet, but these numbers are deceptive.

Isn't a Yankee someone from the north of the USA? Doesn't it go back to the invasion of the Confederates by the north in the American Civil War? I've never studied US history, so I have no idea. :huh

Kelly Pavlik deserved a fight with Locket after back to back fights with Taylor, Gary Locket was the WBO #1 Contender anyway.

By pounds do you mean English Pound £?

If so £2000 is roughly $4000, being more accurate probably around $3800

he has a good proffesional gig i dont feel like retiring is helping him. he showed guts but was shown to be wasy too small for the middles. he was barely pushing 5'10 there. 5'9 is more accurate

154 should be his margin. he was dinamite there his xcuse for losign was that eh was wieght in which means you lost one lifeline after 3 more your out. he has lost 2 times. he should see where his career ends.

hes a euro fighter. why dont he build on it?
