ok so you can quote your sources , now can you link the techniques your describing ? show me on film where Joe louis does what you describing?
Now I think you’re trolling. Watch any Louis fight and you’ll see it. Baer v Louis is a good start as he’s bombing Baer for much of the fight. He consistently drops his left as he throws his right and I believe he made the statement in a documentary or interview or it was in his book. If I’m wrong in some way i will concede maybe he didn’t say it but it doesn’t change the fact that he always did it.
if you can make the claim Joe louis said that without evidence I can dismiss that statement without evidence, I am not trolling but what I am doing is I am making you come correct, none of that experts say ,lazy generalities or lack of analysis work with me dude. You gotta show how you got your answers in these convos , I will watch that fight right now (seen it before but will rewatch) which Baer brother was it ? Buddy or Max ?
You guys are killing me. Dragging my Dad's memories and name & knowledge thru the dirt comparing him to this nut and every other nutcase. Ever heard REST IN PEACE?? Bozos
Plenty, if not almost all, greats have flaws but could get away with them because of physical and dynamic advantages. Now, do you have any footage from Sonny when he wasn't 86 years old to prove your point?
This content is protected Here’s a video breaking it down and probably where I got the idea that Louis states it. Which he almost does in his book if the moderator is to be believed I never read it.
ill let you set the parameters (age has zero to do with his flaws) what year would you consider liston still at peak or not considered old?
Like you I have had a long interest in Sonny's career. I was 14 when he kayo'd Patterson the first time. I've wondered for a long time if a film exists of the Liston-Folley bout which took place on a Monday night in July 1960 at the Denver Coliseum. The fight was not televised, which I guess is why there's no film. Does anyone find that odd considering it pitted the No. 1 vs No.2 contenders?
Age has everything to do with flaws. Roy Jones could get away with a lot of "flaws" until Father Time tilted the ring. Boxing is not figure skating or gymnastics. You are not graded on form; you are graded on results. Sonny ripped the division a new a-hole from 1958-1963.
age has to do with certain flaws but sonny jab too front loaded is not an age thing,it wasnt like he only did that when he was old, did you see the quote I posted of ezzard calling him clumsy as far back as 1954.
