I would say Chavez. If you're considering all time, seeing what a fighter did when he went up in weight is important. And we just don't have that for Sanchez. But Sanchez's wins over Gomez and Nelson were pretty damn legendary, even if not at Gomez's best weight, and even though we don't know how a Nelson rematch would have gone.

Chavez SR is so overrated its unreal. Spent ages fighting roadsweepers and many of his defenses are poor quality IMO, he also must be up their with the most number of gifts given to a fighter, Taylor, Whittaker, Lockridge beaten by Randall as well. He built much of his record against second rate fighters IMO a great fighter still of course but Olivares, Sanchez and Morales all rank above him IMO

Can't really look past Chavez. Like it or not, his overall achievements knock Sanchez's in to a ****ed hat. May well have been different had Sal lived on, but ultimately I don't think you can put him on the top on the basis of what might have been.

Here we go again, i'm so sick to death of everyone saying Taylor schooled and whipped Chavez in the first fight, let me just point some things out. Taylor suffered a broken eye socket, broken ribs, badly busted up face, had a lot of blood pumped from his stomach, was pissing blood for weeks and was in hospital for almost 2 weeks following the fight.

Also he had to spend a long time fighting "road sweepers" because he had zero ameture experience.
