I just don't see why there has to be an issue with Ricky Hatton? He just won his last fight, and nothing he did in the ring himself was deemed controversial. The referee is responsible for his own actions.
Thats hardly a bold prediction to make about a pressure fighter approaching his 30th birthday. Are you going to say "I told you so" when he gets KO'd on 18 months???
i for one think his poor performance on Saturday is directly linked to the way he acted in between fights. I'm not a big Hatton fan. I think his win over KT was bull**** and that he sucks at 147, and even bet against him against both Collazo and PBF. But I have seen alot of his fights and I recognize that at 140 he is a good fighter who on top of his game would give PBF alot of trouble, beat Malignaggi, and KTFO of Lazcano
if you expect me to enter into a debate about the ref your barking up the wrong tree. hatton won fair and square, fairly easily, pretty impressively, very entertainingly .
Please stop with this "overrated" nonsense. Who overrates Ricky Hatton? He is just billed to be the best Junior Welterweight in the game today, and he has proved that in the ring.
Called into question??? Thats an understatement. As much as Hatton complained about Cortez - and he had a right to complain. Lazcano has ten times more right to complain about that ref.:deal
when talkin bout Hatton, its hard not to talk about his most recent fight, when talking bout his most recent fight its impossible not to mention that dogshiit the hometown ref pulled. I actually am a fan of Hatton, but dogshiit is dogshiit. I see Hatton as a great 140 lbr who happens to lose a lot when he moves up one division. And now he's showing his years of balooning between fights.
anyone remember the Vilches fight? He looked really crap in that one. That's around when people claim he was in his prime. Gimme a break. That's a pathetic excuse. Hatton is not past him best, it's just that his best was never anything special to begin with. He's been grossly overrated. He's a world class boxer in the sense that he fights at the top of his division, but a p4p fighter....NO WAY.
again it comes down to the level of the opponent. Oliveira was once a decent figther but was picked for that fight as he was totally shot and a target for Hatton to beat on for a few rounds. to those who were surprised Hatton didn't stop Lazcano....when has Hatton even shown KO punch power? Apart from Castillo, who just wanted a way out, he's only stopped guys on accumulation
He has 15 genuine Knockouts and 14 TKO's. He's not the hardest puncher in the world but he has a fair old punch.
