The Hatton Myth Vs The Pbf Myth

I too don't think hatton is doing himself any favours with his constantly bitching about Mayweather and I give no one with money props for living like a working class stiff. It is his life and his money, but sounds very boring and a little grimy to me. Mayweather has a stupid idea of the importance of money and certainly comes across like a child. Neither of them seem like someone I would want to hang with...Maybe I am being a bit picky about which millionaires I hang with, or maybe they are ****ing idiots.

 

Guys, it is a FIGHT, it is boxing. You don't promote fights between Ghandi and Mother Theresa. 24/7 is a "reality show", which means it has nothing to do with reality. Enjoy the spectacle and respect both guys for putting their lives on the line for our entertainment.

I know mate, I really hope the Floyd camp think that Hatton fights like Baldomir, if they do then they are in for a surprise come Dec 8th, with Hattons footspeed and handspeed compared to Plodomir.

 

The point of having Baldomir is not to have someone in there to be an exact replica of Hatton. Baldomir is in there to give him tough rounds. Baldomir is a big, strong guy, who they probably have getting rough with Floyd. No one is saying Baldomir can replicate Ricky Hatton. What he can do, is get Floyd used to tussleing with a bigger, stronger guy, for 3 minutes at a time, round after round. On Floyd's HBO show, they said Floyd sparred 14 rounds. I can pretty much gurantee, Baldomir, N'dou and his other sparring partners were rotating in and out of there, while Floyd fought the entire 14 rounds. I mean seriously, do you think Hatton is sparring with anyone who can duplicate Floyd? Hell no, but he probably has guys in there with good speed and movement.

I've followed Hatton from almost day 1 and he's NEVER disrespected an opponent or bad mouthed them until this fight.

I agree with your point, however it has been said on 24/7 by Uncle Roger that Ricky Hatton is one dimensional, which leads me to the conclusion they feel that Baldomir is as close to a one dimensional Ricky Hatton as they could find.

 

Man wtf? Hatton should be grateful? No fighter that is a linel Champion and a top 10p4p fighter should be "grateful" that any fighter is giving him a chance to fight him. Floyd is a good fighter but for god sake he does not deserve any specail treatment.

well...i mean hes not exactly one dimensional however in 40 summin fights we have seen pretty much the same pressure pressure pressure, work rate, hold, punches to the body....then start it all over again. I mean he doesn't have a great arsenal of punches, he doesn't have a solid jab especially with short arms, everything that Hatton is is all centered and geared off one work pressure......if his pressure is nullified....can Hatton stand in the middle of the ring and win with Floyd? No not only because he isnt as talented as PBF but because his body stature doesnt permit it.

Baldo is in the ring to BEAT on Floyds body.....wear him down...hold him, lean on him...push him around...Baldo is there to build floyds defense for what Hatton does....and will do...Baldo is much bigger than Hatton so this is even more effective ya know....you can't replicate any fighter...but you find fighters to help you plan for what a fighter does in this case Baldo is a very very good sparring partner to get Floyd ready for the physical nature of this fight with Hatton. Floyd is preparing for war he is not fukking around what i see Hatton doing...punching the damn body bag wrecklessly, getting his humor fix in, he is in great shape yes...but i dont know if he is preparing for this fight like he should...i think he is going about it the wrong way....Floyd is preparing for Hatton i just see Hatton preparing to invoke Hatton's plan on Floyd instead of preparing for FLoyd.

 

Fair analysis

However what you dont get with Baldomir is hand speed and footwork whilst working inside. Hatton's footwork and ability to make angles to fire off at the body is unique. Baldomir will not replicate this, sure he will replicate strength but IMO both are two completely different fighters. If Floyd's defence is being prepared on work with Baldomir standing in front of him then so be it. Hatton is a different proposition.

Hatton's body bag work is also unique, he goes 15 rounds at full pelt on the bag. It may look like reckless abandon when he pounds at th bag but there is method to the apparent madness, the way he opens up the angles with his footwork, Billy Graham isd continuously moving round the ring whilst Hatton stalks, creating angles for those wicked hooks to the body.

 

Great points....and i do realize Hatton's footwork does creat a lot of his shots.

However i dont think Baldo is there for him to get used to fighting styles he only there to get Floyd used to the rough and tumble fight it will be as far as holding getting pushed around you know the physical nature Hatton will try to induce.

Hatton's body bag work is geared to what Hatton can do its not a bad workout it suits him well but i am not sure they are preparing for the fighter you know what im saying....i think Hatton is preparing for Hatton's game plan...my worry is that Hatton goes in there with this gameplan he has worked on and built and we all know Floyd fights according to what he sees in the ring he doesn't develope a set gameplan however its clear to see what Hatton's will be. I just think Floyd will adjust faster and in doing this i am not sure if Hatton can adjust if he is not used to adjusting while in mid fight.....can he invoke another plan for Floyd if and when what he has tried is not enough? This is what i see will be Hatton's problem as great his trainers are there are numerous times when fighters are not properly prepared and i think in this instance they are not preparing Hatton for FLOYD and only preparing Hatton for Hattons game plan.
