didn't most experts say lacy would KO calzaghe?

'oh but mikkel is no lacy', we'll see.

oh, and manfredo aside, what calzaghe fights were stopped too early?

If you think Calzaghe will shut out or KO Kessler, I will be more than happy to make a bet with you, though I feel I have to mention that I already have a bet with Amsterdam regarding this fight.

i just believe you are reading far too much into so called experts opinions, the actual sportsman themselves often make the worst pundits.

seriously though, nice going avoiding my last question, it's another one of the myths floating around here lately that calzaghe stoppages tend to be bull****.

I don't read anything, or more correctly very little, into what the experts are saying (read whose opinion I said was the most important in my post:p ), I just mentioned Bute and Steward as an addition to Satyriion's post. You are right about how sportsmen are often the worst pundits by the way.:good

Regarding your last question, I really didn't try to avoid it, I just stated facts. But let me state that I have never claimed that Calzaghes stoppages in general tend to be BS.

Now answer me this, do you think Calzaghe will beat Kessler as easy as Lacy?

Regarding the Lacy fight, which was joe's selfproclaimed "careerdefining" match, his legacy and more BS, Joe had Lacy in trouble from round 1 and could hit after his own choosing. Lacy was slow and wide open he was hit time and again but he did not looking very hurt except from one time in the last rounds. What amazes me is that a superhuman champ, which allegedly is the right term for joe, can not punch a guy out that has no speed or power and walks around like a sleepwalker. Lacy was clearly not dangerous after rd.3 Joe even says that lacy can't "punch **** all" But no powerpunching just slap after slap.

I would like to see a guy being hit 1000 times by a power puncher in 36 minutes and still be able walk and talk like Lacy.

I think Lacy is telling the truth of how he felt Joe slaps (Manfredo agrees). I don't think he wins anything by belittleling Calzaghe, as he lost so devastating to him.

Could it be that Joe does not hit to hurt, but to impress ?

True, but Lacy's really had a padded record and went on to almost lose to Tsykpo lately.

They have to make up for the Lacy disaster. They got their panaties exposed for what they are.

They think they are avoiding a double**** by Calzaghe by maikng him the safe and universally agreed bet.

But he will double**** them by going down completely 3nov.

    Good for the odds though.

I watched some old Lacy fights some time ago, and he seriously did not impress me as a true champ or anything close to one.

How many succesfull defenses did he master of his title ?

    My 50 cents:

Kessler is a good fighter. But Calzaghe is an extraordinary fighter. Kessler is solid, but what's special about him? Who's going to be more surprised in the ring, Kessler or Calzaghe? How do you prepare for combinations of 7-8 punches coming from a super middleweight?
