He's not simply a challenger though is he? He's also the WBA world heavyweight champion. A title that Wlad has repeatedly said he wants. (i.e. The brothers to hold all belts between them.) Why on earth should Wlad just be given everything he wants while Haye is just supposed to accept whatever he's given? If Wlad wants Haye's title he must be prepared to comprimise.
he is just a challenger though, that's the point. haye's belt means nothing and i think most of us know it. yes, wlad wants it but really that's to add to his collection NOT to add to his legitimacy. it's not that wlad needs that belt to be champion. wlad is giving him 50/50...what champion in history has given 50/50 to the 3rd best heavyweight in the world?? save for louis against braddock, tyson vs lewis, i can't think of anything even close. wlad isn't being given everything he wants, he's not being given anything close to what he DESERVES as champion. the whole haye argument rests of them both being equal as co-champions: not the case. haye isn't even on vitali's level, never mind wlad. wlad has compromised, haye has pushed it like a little child. if he retires now, what will haye's legacy REALLY be?
Didn't Haye say to Wlad "Fight me next, July 2nd" and Wlad say "No, I want to fight Derek Chisora next"
and said yes to the july 2nd date... at the time wlad was staying in a hotel. i can't tell you which one it was, but there were two trees involved...
Who cares if the belt goes, its not the most important thing in the fight by a long way plus ill bet there is a way around that, pretty easily
David Haye is the WBA Heavyweight Champion of the World. Whether you want to ignore it is irrelevant. It means enough to Wlad to offer him 50/50. Its not about both being equal as co-champions. Its about how much Wlad will pay to get his hands on that belt and prove he is the best in the process. By the end of negotiations Wlad had to do one thing for this fight to come off. Not fight Derek Chisora. He wouldn't do it. Where is the compromise?
it wasn't haye's place to make that demand. wlad can fight whoever, whenever, he wants. if he is there at the day of the fight, that's what matters. wlad agreed to everything and agreed to the date. haye made an excuse and don't delude yourself into thinking that if wlad agreed not to fight chisora, haye wouldn't have found something else. he will ALWAYS have "just one more thing..." to add to the negotiations, just one more dealbreaker
They could have signed a preliminary agreement to fight on July 2nd just like Adamek did for Sept. WBA mandatory is really Haye's problem to deal with. He had plenty of time to deal with it and still does. I don't see why it is so hard to make 2 fights in 6 months or give Chagaev a step-aside money. The bottom line is that it is Haye who cannot make the fight on July 2nd and you are trying to make it look like it is Wlad's fault somehow.
No he can't. That's what negotiations are for. Wlad didn't agree to everything. He chose to fight Chisora. The Klitschko fans main argument. Choosing to hang their theories on an event that hasn't happened. One which they don't know will occur for definite.
Finally some sort of worthwile answer. Unfortunately a prelimanary agreement is not a signed contract that the WBA will accept though. I know the mandatory is not Wlads problem but if he wanted to fight Haye so bad like he said he did then why did he put such massive obsticles in the way by fighting Chisora knowing full well Haye would problems with his mandatory? The bottom line is Wlad knew the situation and he knows full well that Haye couldnt fight him once he had agreed to fight Chisora. So i fail to see how that is Haye's fault.
1)but what say should haye have in the chisora fight? haye was negotiating his fight. a fight wlad agreed to 2)he agreed to everything in the haye fight. the chisora fight is none of haye's business 3)klitschko fans aren't some distinct, common group. it's like saying haye fans are all british and have no idea what fighting is like outside of britain. this is not everyone's main argument, but one of the many. and guess what? 4 seperate negotiations with the klit brothers have falling apart, in some part (not entirely), because of that reason. it's a logical assumption
Haye has to deal with WBA one way or another. Even if Wlad won't fight Chisora WBA may still force Haye to go through mandatory defence because July 2nd date is 3 months beyond mandatory deadline. It is also unclear how Chagaev is going to react because his title shot will be pushed to later in the year and he will have to stage another stay busy fight to keep his mandatory status. In any case, you are trying to defend a man who is saying: "I am through with Klitschkos because I have to fight Chagaev now". What kind of attitude is that?
