In honesty it would still worry me a bit. You have a head guard on and stoppages are not that common. But he is only 21 (turns 22 in 10 days time) and can definitely grow stronger and fill out more. He is still very inexperienced and raw, so I'm very pleased he will not be pro before late 2012 and then he needs to get a good trainer and aim for sparring in the US.

Very very early days but he is certainly promising. Apparently he can do the 100 metres in 11 seconds too, so we know he has quick feet.

No it is obviously too early to say that, but what we can say is he is an exciting prospect. People said the same about Khan when he went to the Olympics aged 17 and it has proved to be true. Other times decorated amateurs fail in the pro ranks, Audley Harrison being an obvious example.

In the case of Joshua, he is only 21 and very inexperienced and yet he has an impressive record and can punch. He just beat the reigning Superheavyweight Olympic and World champion in the quarter finals of the World Champions and fights in the semi final tomorrow.

He also beat up solid pro Tyson Fury in sparring, according to Tyson Fury himself so not some random internet rumour.

The brothers will probably retired by the time he's ready.

Looks badass though, new HW to root for perhaps.

if by that you mean went crashing into the ropes which he was fortunate kept him up and went wobbling around like his legs were made of spaghetti noodles then yes. You're right Tua is the rule not the exception, i'm sure Anthony's will become granit

It was a good win but somewhat inflated imo. Cammarelle is 31 has nagging back problems and has been slipping the last couple years. most recently at the europeans he lost to Omarov who is a 22 yr old 6'7 southpaw seems much more complete and gifted than anthony.

hrgovic dychko omarov medzhidov yoka parker abedelghani sheehan savon nistor anthony are all shw's between 20-24, all but two are anthony's size and all can punch, several being huge punchers. none will be a threat to the Klychko's obviously since they'll be long retired. what i'm saying is that there's a long list of talented future pro hw's and anthony isn't at the top of my list.

i do favor him over pfeifer in his semi final match though, pfeifer looks around 6'2 or 6'3 and is a boxer. a boxing match i expect anthony to win. whether or not the german can pressure and get inside against him which he'll need to do remains to be seen but he hasn't shown that ability yet, not thats he's needed to considering his matchups so far.

Probably after the London Games next year. He will be a millionaire before before his first pro fight, just like Audley. Unfortunately for him that is not where the similarities end.

Why the rolling eyes emoticon? I didn't suggest it would become granite, I simply said that being stopped in the ams does not mean he has a crap chin. I didn't say Tua was the rule did I? In fact that entire paragraph is one straw man after another.

You said he got KTFO. Did he? No, so you were wrong.

I said being stopped is worrying, but not necessarily proof that his chin is terrible, because guys like Tua, Holmes and Bowe were all stopped and all had very good chins in the pro game. I also mentioned Audley as an example of someone who didn't cut it.

So your balanced response was a massive strawman suggesting that I claimed Tua was the norm and that Joshua's chin will become granite. What a dreadful retort from a usually good poster.

That's fine and a much more worth whole comment than simply implying he is some glass jawed nothing, the whole "glass jaw" crap on these boards is an embarrassment.

Khan has turned out to have an okay pro career hasn't he? But if we followed what the likes of Zakman and the other ******s spout then he would never have got past journeymen level.

Joshua is not yet 22 and very inexperienced. Omarov might well be better, and that is a fine issue to raise and nothing wrong with saying that Joshua looks promising but you think Omarov looks more promising. Although you do seem to have somewhat of a bias for Eastern European fighters.

Yup. He also looks top-heavy and "artificially" muscled, like a body builder.

Quick - Name one truly great HW who looked like a bodybuilder.

    - Get back to me if you manage to think of one.
