    Legacy you said?:huh What legacy?:blood
He is fighting another handpicked (by his management) opponent tonight.
Of course his managers know that Erdei is limited, so they handpick his opponents. Add a few good commercials with selective scenes of Erdei and his opponents and you believe (read: the germans) he is the best light-heavy in the world facing dangerous murdurers:nut

    lamf's

Wow... a great expert you are! I suggest you watch a few Erdei fights before saying bold statements like that. Erdei is far from being limited. On the other hand, you're right: he really fights handpicked opponents lately, and his 'legacy' is non-existant on an international level. BTW, I've found another interview with him on zdf.de. There's an interesting part in it:

Erdei: Ich bin noch lange nicht satt. Ich kann noch mehr erreichen. Vielleicht einen Titelvereinigungskampf oder einen Fight gegen einen großen Namen wie Roy Jones oder Antionio Tarver.

My German is not that good but I'll try to translate it for those who don't speak the language:

Erdei: I'm still hungry. I can still achieve a lot more. Probaly a unification fight or a fight with a big name like Roy Jones or Antonio Tarver.

Darien, I have backed Erdei by KO because I think he knows it's time to step it up, given what he has declared recently. If he doesn't KO him it's because he doesn't want it enough and there won't be any "big fight".

Yeah I overreacted a little maybe, he is not that bad indeed ( Guess I saw about 4 fights of him).
But Roy and Tarver are not the top dogs anymore at all:roll: They are just big names. Why is he not mentioning Kessler, Calzaghe, Hopkins, JT..:huh

I see your point Decebal. Let's hope that he does KO this guy then.

And for the record: I'm not a blind nuthugger. I believe that Erdei and his mangement deserve all the criticism for their choice of opposition. I just don't agree with people who claim that Erdei is a bum. Fighting bums doesn't make you a bum. He's a very skilled world-class boxer. I'm not saying he's the best out there, although he might very well be, but he hasn't proved it yet. I really hope he gets a real fight soon, so we can see what he's really made of.

I kind of agree with this and there are more fighters in/from Germany in the kind of same situacion... Sidorenko for example

It's ok, I might have overreacted a bit too, sorry for that. Well, he said it's either a unification or a big name like Jones or Tarver. This doesn't exclude all the others you've mentioned. BTW I don't think Kessler or JT wants to fight at LHW any time soon, so it's Calzaghe and Hopkins that might be worth mentioning.

He is good enough to fight the best and have a decent chance against them. But it's all up to him. In my book, he has to shine tonight. If he just settles for the comfortable UD, he is clearly having a laugh...

    Fingers crossed!;)

Sido is going to Japan next month to achieve bigger and better things...if he beats this unknown Japanese he is going to make a unification vs. Hasegawa - I would call the winner of this fight the undisputed champ at 118...

Unfortuante but true. Just go read eastside's front page. Calzaghe says one of the reasons he wants Hopkins is for the Ring belt. Hopkins and Floyd are always braging about their Ring belt. Gold boy has always put the Ring belt as # 1 on his list.

I think the Lineal title is more prestigious cause its realy the only one that can brag about being won in the ring and from way back. The Ring title has big gaps and only a few were given out in the 2000s and based only on the magazine's opinion on who deserved it.

I know Glen Johnson will fight anywhere so Erdie has no excuses to let his next fight be a can. Briggs, Diacanu and Woods would probably be more than happy to fight him as well but if in Germany they should be real careful who the judges will be

Erdei said that he can't motivate himself to fight those kind of fighters like Mendoza.
IMO there will be 2 more fights and he will try to land his next one in the US...

To have a legacy you have to be international. Erdei is a euro fighter who has accomplished less than Ottek, so he doesn't have a legacy. I doubt he can do enough between now and retirement to gain one either.
