Bute about the Cotto v. Mosley fight he is going to attend: "I am a fan of Cotto but I like Mosley too. They are both real boxers and it will be a great fight."

Bute about Calzaghe v. Kessler: "I know that some papers are already talking about unification fights but I am not in a hurry. I am still celebrating the success from a couple of days ago and I have time to think what will follow. Until a unfication fight I will defend my belt for at least another two fights. Until then, I will watch the fight on the 3rd of Novermber. I don't care which of the two wins. Maybe I will get to fight them both."

«Je m'attends à retourner au gymnase au début de décembre et à procéder à la première défense de mon titre en février, a indiqué Bute. Mais je saurai mieux à quoi m'en tenir après une rencontre avec les dirigeants du groupe InterBox. Je n'ai pas discuté de ces choses-là lundi.»

I just can't wait to see who it's gonna be, maybe we'll have a better idea after the WBC congress in november since Interbox agreed to discuss with Golden Boy.

I want it to be Andrade so bad.

From what I heard from Bute's trainer. It won't be Andrade for the first title defense.

    So...what now for Bute?

Kessler is better than ever but has lost to the very best.

Joe will not fight Lucian. If you still hope he might, for any reason, don't. It won't happen. Forget it alltogether.

Kessler has lost his belts and wants back on the action. It makes sense for him to target Bute. The gulf in quality between them is bigger than ever though, after Bute's slightly disappointing fight against Berrio and Kessler's very good fight against Joe. Kessler developed more for his last fight than Bute did for his.

Kessler might call Bute out very soon. Bute could dodge him but if he does, he will lose a lot of our love and respect. But if he agrees to fight Kessler he will lose (badly)...

So, Bute fans, what should Lucian do, WHEN :nod Kessler calls him out?

Bute should just cut Kessler off by going after Mundine/Inkin/Froch/Lacy or whomever. If he has a fight signed for 3-4 months down the road, then he dosen't have to worry about Kessler for a good while. But it's only delaying the ineveitable

Fight him and TRY to beat him the same way Calzaghe did. If he loses (depends how he loses) fight Pascal. If he wins well it opens all doors for him to fight whoever he wants. Kessler will probably want a tune up before againts a guy like Bika, Lacy, Mack or Berrio (if he ever fights again).

Yes...Bute can only get away with blowing Kessler off if he fights someone GOOD. If he has made plans to fight lesser fighters either to enjoy life a bit and take some pressure off after winning the IBF title or to impress casual fans by destroying non Top 15 opposition, these plans are off now after JC-MK. Suddenly, there is pressure on Bute to take it up a gear and quite fast too!

If he doesn't, he will become irrelevant, like Mundine.

Come on...let us be realistic here...Bute cannot do what JC can...and Pascal will not fight Bute any time soon.

Bute has got a year before he should be forced into the Kessler fight should JC stay at 168. Mikkel isn't automatically entitled to get a shot at the IBF just because he lost to Joe. By that time, Calzaghe may even have retired/moved up in weight.

Well Bute has been gradually stepping up his competition, so I reckon that a top 10 guy is a cert for his next fight. Most likely Andrade as he'd be the easiest fight to make and has only lost to Kessler so far. Good experience for Bute aswel and will gauge how good he is compared to Kessler.

I don't see what Joe's staying or not staying at the weight has to do wth Mikkel and Bute...he will not rematch Mikkel and he will not fight Bute. (The only reason he might stay at the weight is to fight Pavlik - very unlikely)
